Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire, England, has announced a new junior roller coaster of the Heeler Family. Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! will open in the park’s CBeebies Land in spring 2026. The attraction represents the first roller coaster based on the Bluey television property.
What We Know About the Coaster
The ride is based on the animated television series Bluey, which centers on the everyday experiences of a young Blue Heeler puppy, her younger sister Bingo, and their family. The coaster’s theme draws from episodes in which Bluey and Bingo take on the characters of the Grannies, Janet and Rita.

Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! is planned as a family-oriented steel junior roller coaster with gentle drops and turns. The ride environment is designed to suggest Bluey’s backyard, with stylized trees, flowers, and other visual elements intended for younger riders. Interactive features are also planned for the attraction’s queue.
The queue area will include a recreation of Bluey’s house, where guests can take photos and participate in simple activities before boarding. Elsewhere in CBeebies Land, the park plans to offer character meet-and-greets with Bluey, Bingo, Mum (Chilli), and Dad (Bandit). A Bluey Live stage show is also scheduled to be presented in the Big Fun Showtime venue.
Behind the Scenes
Alton Towers Resort developed the attraction in partnership with BBC Studios, which manages licensing for the Bluey property in the United Kingdom. BBC Studios representatives said the Grannies episodes were chosen as the basis for the ride because of their popularity with viewers.
The new ride is under construction on the former site of the Postman Pat Parcel Post attraction. The earlier ride was removed to allow for the development. The project follows the introduction of Bluey-related experiences in CBeebies Land, including themed hotel rooms that opened at the CBeebies Land Hotel in 2024 and interactive programming within the park.

Howard Ebison, vice president of Alton Towers Resort, said the park plans to expand its family-focused offerings with the addition of the new ride and related experiences. He said the attraction is intended to fit alongside existing offerings in CBeebies Land.
Alton Towers has not announced an opening date beyond the spring 2026 timeframe. One-day tickets for CBeebies Land start at about £34 when booked online, with higher prices for walk-up entry. Short-break packages that include hotel accommodations are also available. CBeebies Land opened in 2014 and has since received periodic updates that reflect children’s television programming.
Bluey In the United States
For U.S. audiences, Disney has announced plans to introduce the Heeler family to American theme park guests. At Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, the Fantasyland Theatre will host a live show titled Bluey’s Best Day Ever!, which is set to open on March 22, 2026. The production will feature Bluey and Bingo appearing on stage with performers. The theater will be themed to resemble Bluey’s school, with scenes and activities drawn from the television series.
