Geoff Morrell, the former spokesperson for the Pentagon who had become Disney’s VP over communications and government relations, has decided to quit after only three months. Morrell represented a Chapek hire that was intended to bring the company more towards the political middle with his connections to Republicans and conservatives.
In his place is the just-hired Kristina Schake who is a Democrat strategist most famous for working with Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama and Joe Biden.
Confirmed: Geoff Morrell, Disney's head of corporate affairs, is out after less than five months on the job.

Said Morrell:
“After three months in this new role, it has become clear to me that for a number of reasons it is not the right fit. After talking this over with Bob, I have decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities.”
Horacio Gutierrez, also a brand-new Disney employee, will take the lead on all government relations issues… likely including the Florida kerfuffle.
