Chris Evans has replaced Tim Allen as the voice of Buzz Lightyear and now he has a message for those who think Pixar’s inclusion of a lesbian kiss is part of an agenda:
“The real truth is those people are idiots. There’s always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before. But those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward and embrace the growth that makes us human.”

This follows the leaked Reimagine Tomorrow videos from Disney that revealed executives and creatives speaking about a “not so secret gay agenda”:

As the debate surrounding sexual orientation and gender theory rages on inside and outside of Hollywood, specifically in regards to its inclusion in children’s programming, there is little doubt that Disney and PIxar’s newest film, Lightyear, will be at the very center of all of it. While we don’t suspect the first weekend will be indicative of much, should the movie have a large falloff in its second weekend, or should the movie underwhelm at the box office, it may be a sign that audiences aren’t keen on “alternative lifestyles” being presented casually in children’s cartoons. If it excels at the box office, it may point to the world not caring about such issues in kid movies. We make no determination as to the rightness or wrongness of such a thing, only that the box office tally for Lightyear will be a significant barometer as to society’s position.
One thing does seem likely though:
Claiming that critics of Disney’s push for gay and lesbian inclusion in children’s programming are “idiots” is probably not leading towards a peaceful or moderating tone. Perhaps a culture clash is ahead for the film.
