Coral Reef Restaurant at EPCOT is scheduled to reopen on November 4, 2026, after a temporary closure beginning September 8. Walt Disney World currently lists November 4 as the date when reservations resume.

Disney’s current restaurant page says Coral Reef will temporarily close beginning September 8. The page also describes the closure as being for planned maintenance, but Disney has not provided details about the scope or nature of the work. The company has not announced a refurbishment, renovation, seasonal closure, or specific changes to the restaurant.

Guests planning a visit around the reopening should check Disney’s operating calendar before traveling. Disney notes that its schedules can change.

Coral Reef Restaurant Closure

Coral Reef Restaurant stopped serving guests on September 8, 2026. Disney has not announced how the closure will affect the restaurant beyond its temporary loss of service.

The current schedule indicates that reservations resume November 4. That creates a closure of roughly eight weeks.

Disney has not announced whether guests will see changes to the dining room, menu, aquarium viewing area, or other parts of the restaurant when it returns. There is also no announced explanation for why the restaurant will close during this period.

Dinner-Only Service Earlier in 2026

The November reopening will follow a change to Coral Reef’s operating schedule earlier this year.

The restaurant previously offered both lunch and dinner. Disney’s reservation information showed lunch availability through January 3, 2026. Beginning January 4, reservations shifted to dinner only, with hours listed from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The same dinner-only schedule appears with the November 4 reopening date in current reservation information. Disney has not announced that lunch service will return after the September closure.

Inside The Seas Pavilion

Coral Reef Restaurant operates inside The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion at EPCOT. Its dining room overlooks the pavilion’s large aquarium. Disney says the aquarium is home to more than 2,000 sea creatures.

The restaurant serves American and seafood dishes. Disney’s current dinner menu includes lobster bisque, coconut fried shrimp, seafood macaroni and cheese, shrimp fettuccine, grilled snapper, and surf and turf.

The menu also includes plant-based selections, including Caribbean salad and Coastal Palm Cakes. Disney lists allergy-friendly options and advises guests with allergies to discuss their needs with a Cast Member.

Those menu details reflect Disney’s current listings. The restaurant could change its offerings before or after reopening. There has been no announcement of a new menu tied to the September closure.

Waning Popularity

Coral Reef Restaurant was once a more prominent part of EPCOT’s dining scene. In the 1990s, the restaurant appeared in television shows including Full House and Boy Meets World. It also appeared in Walt Disney World promotional material and other television programming during that period.

The restaurant’s basic setting has remained recognizable for decades. Its dining room still looks into the large aquarium at The Seas, much as it did when the restaurant opened. The surrounding pavilion changed significantly when The Living Seas became The Seas with Nemo & Friends in 2006, but Coral Reef retained much of its original identity.

Coral Reef’s profile has declined over the years. It was once a more prominent EPCOT dining destination, but its popularity and cultural significance has waned.

Though Disney has not announced what maintenance it has planned, perhaps an update to the interior of the Coral Reef Restaurant is in order.

EPCOT Festival Schedule

The scheduled November 4 reopening will take place during EPCOT’s 2026 International Food & Wine Festival. The event is scheduled to continue through November 21.

Coral Reef will therefore remain closed for most of the festival. Its scheduled return falls during the final weeks of the event.

The reopening will also come before EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays, which begins November 27.

What Guests Should Know About the Reopening

Guests visiting EPCOT after November 4 will be able to make reservations at Coral Reef Restaurant if Disney maintains the current schedule and tables remain available.

The available information does not establish what work will take place during the closure. Disney has not announced a refurbishment, renovation, new menu, dining-room changes, or a change to the restaurant’s concept.

Unless Disney changes the schedule, the Coral Reef Restaurant EPCOT reopening will restore dinner service in November while leaving lunch unavailable. Guests should check Disney’s official calendar and reservation system for the latest information as the reopening date approaches.
