The shocking news that conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot at a Utah event has reverberated across the country. One of the more disturbing responses came from inside the entertainment industry. Gretchen Felker-Martin, a biological male who identifies as female and is currently writing a Red Hood comic book for DC Comics, openly mocked Kirk’s death while also posting vile remarks about police officers, claiming they’re not “people.”

The DC Writer openly mocked Charlie Kirk mere hours after he was fatally shot, fueling serious questions about judgment inside DC, Warner Bros. Discovery, and the broader culture surrounding its creative hires.

Mocking Kirk’s Death

Instead of offering sympathy, measured criticism, or just saying nothing at all, Felker-Martin responded to the news of Kirk’s shooting with open ridicule.

On social media, the DC writer wrote: “Thoughts and prayers you Nazi b***h.”

This was followed by another post that sneered: “Hope the bullet’s okay after touching Charlie Kirk.”

These weren’t critiques of Kirk’s political positions. They were celebrations of an act of violence that left a man, a father of young children, dead.

Comments About Police

On the very same day, Felker-Martin also turned to attacking law enforcement, referencing a sequence in the upcoming Red Hood comic.

“Kept seeing people tw RED HOOD #1 for su****e, and for the life of me I could not figure out why until I remembered it opens with a bunch of cops sh***ing themselves. I just don’t really consider them people,” Felker-Martin said.

For a professional attached to one of the world’s biggest comic publishers, this is extraordinary — glorifying violence in fiction while also treating entire groups of real-world people (civil servants no less) as sub-human.

Who is Gretchen Felker-Martin?

Felker-Martin first gained notoriety as a horror novelist. A debut novel Manhunt (2022) was widely publicized and appeared on multiple “Best of the Year” lists, while the follow-up Cuckoo (2024) reached the USA Today bestseller list. Felker-Martin has built a reputation for extreme horror fiction filled with body horror and identity politics, cultivating a following in progressive literary circles.

Beyond novels, Felker-Martin has worked as a critic and essayist, often writing about horror films. In 2024, DC Comics tapped Felker-Martin to write a short story in Harley Quinn #41. That would lead to an even more high-profile assignment: a full Red Hood ongoing series under DC’s new “All In” mature-readers imprint.

The Red Hood Series

Announced in mid-2025, Felker-Martin’s Red Hood run is described as a gritty pulp-noir tale. Jason Todd has left Gotham and Batman behind to take on a new city, New Angelique, consumed by corruption. Felker-Martin promised a story of “sweat, blood, and powder burns. Broken bones and mind control. A city rotted from the inside out.”

The project is being positioned as one of the centerpieces of DC’s new adult line.

Controversially, Felker-Martin admitted to deliberately avoiding reading past Jason Todd stories, claiming not to be interested in continuity. This approach was already raising eyebrows among long-time DC fans, but the recent remarks about Kirk and law enforcement have turned concern into outrage.

Why This Matters

This DC Writer mocking the death of Charlie Kirk and dehumanizing polics officers is not just about offensive tweets. It’s about a professional entrusted with one of DC’s flagship characters openly cheering the death of a political activist and dismissing law enforcement officers as subhuman.

For DC Comics, this is a test. Does the company stand by a writer who mocks the death of Charlie Kirk and suggests police officers aren’t people, or does it recognize the line that has been crossed?

Because in the end, violence cannot be celebrated selectively. If it’s wrong for one side, it’s wrong for all. And if major publishers want credibility with audiences, they must apply that standard evenly.

Gretchen deserves to be fired, immediately.

devilman013

Gretchen never should have been hired in the first place.

Here’s your sign, all you far left a holes. Keep being dishonest that your rhetoric doesn’t lead to violence but this dude trying to be a woman, with a mental illness is just another example of their cancer on our society.

Fire it and bring back insane asylums to throw it in.

Reclassifying the DSM to say it’s not a mental illness was the wrong thing to do.

The fact that they say such vile s**t in public without so much as an ounce of self-awareness tells you everything you need to know about these people.

It is the scum of the earth

We wanted these people out of the industries because we saw the corruption they brought. They should have listened. “Why do you care” they asked coyly. They have shown everyone who they are

I hate cancel culture, but I’m glad people are trying to get people fired for how they’re reacting over this. They lecture everyone else about empathy and show nothing but evil. They say you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. I beg to differ.

Hopefully this is just the natural reaction of the “body”. After a while the body identifies a harmful source and finally sends the correct defense mechanism to deal with it. These scum bags have been slivers or cancer cells and now the culture (body) is starting the process of expelling the unwanted object(s). Let’s get the process going in full gear.
