Deadpool 3: More Multiversal Mayhem
The continual expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has led to a convoluted web of interconnected stories, and it’s not necessarily benefiting the once-beloved brand. The persistent pursuit of surprising plot twists and unusual character connections has become a commonplace strategy. Amidst this chaos, one of the most eagerly awaited films of MCU’s Phase Five is “Deadpool 3.” Despite the ongoing multiverse theme, there’s a spark of hope surrounding this movie, particularly regarding hints of the X-Men making their entry into the MCU.
Diving into Multiversal Madness:
The rumor mill, buzzing louder than the Brood from The Uncanny X-Men comics, suggests that “Deadpool 3” will unfold post the Loki Season 2 finale. According to My Time To Shine Hello on social media, the Time Variance Authority (TVA) has caught wind of the Kangs assembling for a Multiversal War.
Their strategy? Assemble an army of Multiversal heroes, mainly plucked from decaying worlds, to confront the enigmatic Council of Kangs. While the specifics may have evolved due to the Jonathan Majors legal case, this narrative remains plausible. It’s worth noting that My Time To Shine Hello has a strong track record of reliable insights despite clearly shilling for “next product” from Marvel and Disney.
Rumors have it that Mobius will step aside in favor of Mr. Paradox. The new face of the TVA is tasked with recruiting none other than Wolverine, a widely publicized development. Deadpool, who we now know is detained at the TVA due to his time-meddling escapades, catches wind of this plan. He has a different idea: to persuade Wolverine to join him for a bromance like no other.
The storyline promises chaos, Deadpool’s signature humor, and the unrestrained mayhem that ensues when the MCU’s most unpredictable antihero runs rampant. Surprisingly, Deadpool remains uncensored, an unexpected move according to both Feige and Ryan Reynolds, giving fans a glimmer of hope.
Wolverine’s Pivotal Role:
Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine takes center stage, as evidenced by numerous production images. He is poised to play a crucial role in “Deadpool 3.” Reports indicate that both Deadpool and the TVA are keen on recruiting this iconic X-Men character, even though his willingness to join the cause remains uncertain. Will this set the stage for a showdown or a bromantic alliance? The answer remains a mystery.
Director Shawn Levy’s comments have further fueled anticipation. He has expressed immense excitement for “Deadpool 3” and underlined the film’s connection to “Logan,” establishing its canonicity within the Deadpool narrative. This revelation raises intriguing questions about Wolverine’s role in the upcoming movie and potential appearances in future films.
Hope for a Lokius Reunion:
In a surprising turn, fans are speculating about the possibility of a Lokius reunion in “Deadpool 3.” Mobius’s fate in the Loki Season 2 finale was heartbreaking for many viewers, but whispers of his return in a new Marvel movie have kindled hope. While these speculations await confirmation, they offer a glimpse of the dynamics that fans eagerly await on the big screen.
The X-Men’s Anticipated Arrival:
If the reliable sources are correct, “Deadpool 3” will serve as the gateway for the X-Men’s “official” introduction to the MCU. Although it was initially assumed that “Deadpool 3” would be the conduit for the X-Men’s arrival, “The Marvels” presented Beast through CGI that left much to be desired. The introduction of a lackluster character like Binary is an underwhelming start, to say the least and should lead us to question what other disappointing failure characters will be introduced as X-Men in the future.
The Stunning Evolution of the MCU:
Disney’s Marvel Studios, in its pursuit of a perceived ‘modern audience,’ has rapidly reshaped the MCU. The brand’s decline has been palpable since the resounding success of “Endgame.” Unfortunately, Disney’s endeavor to realign the MCU with an audience it believed it lacked has not yielded any positive results.
The 2019 THEME Report from the MPAA, compared to the 2021 report, reveals a significant shift. Attempting to transform a primarily male-oriented brand into a more female centric one has had an extremely detrimental impact on the MCU’s popularity. It’s noteworthy that the report seemingly ceased publication in late spring, likely due to data highlighting unfavorable trends. Those trends had started to show the accelerated decline associated with all the forced social engineering blather media companies were forcing into their media products. They certainly can’t have that information out there.
The Future Awaits:
Undoubtedly, MCU’s Phase Five has begun with colossal disappointment. The promise of more multiverse madness and nonsensical crossovers reflects a somewhat tone-deaf and ideologically driven studio that appears in need of fresh leadership and comprehensive reform. For fans, this disheartening news will continue to impact box office turnout. For content creators, it presents an opportunity to scrutinize Disney’s shortcomings and wildly profit from them.
Whether Deadpool’s endeavor to recruit Wolverine for the TVA’s battle against the Kangs fulfills the expectations of fans or disappoints them immeasurably remains to be seen. Deadpool 3 may indeed be the only saving grace in Phase Five. However, with Disney relying on an audience’s familiarity with their declining TV shows being a valuable measure, the prospects for even this film are uncertain.
It’s indisputable that the MCU’s future hinges on this one film to be sure. I assert it does especially after the substantially underwhelming Phase Four and two significant Phase Five disappointing flops. There is not much good will left in Marvel’s “real” audience.
Can Marvel regain its former glory? That’s a question that remains unanswered, but your thoughts are welcome in the comments section below.
