In an interview with Empire Magazine, Miller first shared a brief overview of the film.
He said “The story is the saga of Furiosa, and how she gets taken from home, and spends the rest of her life trying to get back.”
“[In] Fury Road, the story unfolds over three days and two nights. This film follows the story that runs directly into Fury Road, for 15 years,” he elaborated.

Next, he described the film as an odyssey while also describing it as a different animal.
He told Empire, “It’s a different animal. It’s got many different locations. It’s an odyssey. No question.”

On top of all this, Miller also addressed if Mad Max might make an appearance. The character was originally played by Mel Gibson in the first film back in 1979. Gibson reprised his role in The Road Warrior and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. However, Tom Hardy played the character in Mad Max: Fury Road back in 2015.
Miller shared, “I won’t give away too much about that. All I’ll say is, Max is lurking there in the background.”

Chris Hemsworth as Warlord Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024), Warner Bros. Pictures
Furiosa is expected to arrive in theaters on May 24, 2024. As noted above the film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa. It also features Chris Hemsworth as Warlord Dementus and Tom Burke as Praetorian Jack.
The film also sees the return of Immortan Joe, who was previously portrayed by Hugh Keays-Byrne in Mad Max: Fury Road. He will not reprise the role given he passed away in 2020.
