In a shocking move, The Walt Disney Company announced just days after one of its most controversial “The View” episodes that they’re expanding the show rather than curtailing its damage.

Disney’s decision to strengthen “The View” to weekends, introducing “The Weekend View” on January 11, underscores the company’s commitment to the show’s format and its hosts, even as many believe Disney would be wise to do the opposite. This move comes amid significant controversy, particularly surrounding co-host recent remarks by Sunny Hostin comparing the J6 event to historical atrocities like the events of World War II and historic slavery. Such statements have drawn sharp criticism from organizations like StopAntisemitism, which labeled Hostin’s comparison as “nauseating at best.”

“The View,” known for its candid discussions on current events, often courts controversy. The comments made by Sunny Hostin on Monday exemplify this, as she stated that the J6 situation was “one of the worst moments in American history.” This perspective was met with backlash from various commentators and organizations, including StopAntisemitism and CNN’s Scott Jennings, who condemned the remarks as inappropriate and offensive.

Bill O’Reilly of No Spin News agreed:

Despite the uproar, Disney appears to be doubling down. Given that “The View” is operated under the control of Disney VP, Dana Walden, who is closely linked with soon-to-be-former Vice President Kamala Harris, the idea that they would expand on a severely partisan program is not out of the blue. The introduction of “The Weekend View,” a half-hour segment airing on ABC News Live, features the show’s Friday panel, including Hostin, and aims to provide an extended “Hot Topics” segment with a focus on pop culture. Karin Gilford, senior vice president of Digital Media at ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks, emphasized that the expansion offers viewers “more of what they love from the connection they feel for the show.”

This strategic move raises questions about Disney’s stance on the content and commentary presented by “The View.” By extending the show’s reach, Disney signals endorsement of its hosts and their perspectives, even when they provoke public outcry. The lack of a public response or clarification from Disney or ABC regarding Hostin’s controversial statements further suggests a tacit acceptance or at least a willingness to tolerate such controversies in pursuit of viewership and engagement.

Critics argue that this approach prioritizes entertainment value and ratings over sensitivity and responsibility. Comparisons like Hostin’s are seen as diminishing the gravity of historical tragedies, causing distress among communities directly affected by those events. The decision to expand the platform of a show that engages in such contentious commentary can be interpreted as a disregard for the concerns of these communities.

The sponsorship of “The Weekend View” by RoC Skincare, marking ABC News Live’s first integrated brand sponsorship, adds another layer to the discussion. Corporate sponsorship implies endorsement, and in this context, it raises questions about the alignment of brand values with the content being promoted. Sponsors may need to consider the potential reputational risks associated with backing programming that courts controversy.

Disney’s expansion of “The View” amid controversies involving its hosts reflects a complex balancing act between fostering engaging content and navigating the responsibilities inherent in broadcasting. While the move may cater to audience demand for more of the show’s content, it also underscores the need for legacy media companies to be mindful of the broader implications of the messages they amplify. Don’t be surprised if the new weekend version of “The View” generates more good will for New Media critics than for Disney itself.

Sunny’s husband is now caught up in a very damning insurance fraud scandal.

Mad Lemming

I was going to mention that. Seems the two of them have this sick need to defraud others. It was a badly worded law in Cali that allowed him to do it for so long. Leave it to politicians to skip vital steps in getting a bill passed–like running it by actual lawyers and other legal experts who might have spotted the loopholes that led to this.

Who is going to watch it!? Nobody! What are we going to do!? Double down!

Disney is going to bleed money, continue cutting corners and in ten or so years, people will just… look elsewhere, while the people like Whoopie “The Stupid Hollywood” Golddigger and Sunny “The Antisemite” Hostin will cry on BlueSky (more like on X, because Musk will buy it BlueSky, because they run it exactly the same as Twatter) that people are racist because they don’t pay them million’s and kiss the ground they walk on.

These are exactly the people why the rest of the world hates USA.

I appreciate The View – it’s an unfiltered window into the feminist leftist insanity. It’s so bad that even normies cringe at it – a useful tool for showing people the enemy.
