News of Disney’s Endeavor during Difficult Times
Walt Disney, the entertainment giant, has decided to embark on a rather interesting endeavor. They’ve chosen to extend a helping hand to children. Now, in the wake of these tumultuous times we’ve experienced, Disney has decided to offer some discounts, yes, discounts, on tickets to their beloved theme parks, for a limited time, of course.
You see, the pandemic has dealt quite a blow to the amusement park industry. In the years 2020 and 2021, as COVID-19 swept across the globe, these parks were forced to close their gates, and attendance plummeted. But, my friends, Disney, being the resilient and adaptive conglomerate it is, has managed to bounce back quite impressively. Their amusement parks have become the primary source of profit, helping to offset losses in their Disney+ streaming venture.
However, and here’s the crux of the matter, there are some signs, albeit subtle, of a slowdown in visitor numbers. In August, Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, shared during an earnings conference call that they were observing what he referred to as “softer performance” at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Nevertheless, let us not forget that the parks business is, in his own words, “a tremendous business,” and Walt Disney World continues to outperform its pre-pandemic levels.
Now, just to keep things interesting, Disney has decided to make a rather substantial investment in its parks business. They plan to nearly double their capital expenditure, dedicating approximately $60 billion over the next decade to enhance their offerings.
So, what’s the scoop on these discounts, you ask? Starting on the 24th of October, Disney will be offering tickets for children at their Disneyland Resort theme parks for as low as $50 per day. These tickets will be valid for use between January 8th and March 10th of the following year. And, if that’s not enticing enough, Walt Disney World will also be rolling out a package deal on November 14th. Families can enjoy discounted children’s tickets for theme parks along with dining plans, usable from March 3rd through June 30th of the same year.
But, my friends, there’s one little catch. These offers are exclusively available to children aged 3 to 9. So, there you have it, a little Disney magic for the youngsters to look forward to in the months ahead.
