It’s been a few years since The Walt Disney Company decided to raise prices at Disney World, but today they’ve announced they’re doing just that. After record-breaking spending by families in the prior quarter, Disney is going for even more money per guest by cranking up the prices on most tickets starting immediately. They’ve left single-day and two-day tickets alone for now, likely to defend themselves if they’re accused of outpricing average families.
So what are the changes? Let’s take a look at the adult prices for some of the tickets to get an idea:
Base Tickets
4-Day: $596.74 to $596.74
5-Day: $630.85 to $646.87
6-Day: $645.91 to $672.25
7-Day: $661.56 to $694.96
Park Hopper Tickets
3-Day: $555.88 to $555.88
4-Day: $687.27 to $687.27
5-Day: $721.38 to $739.92
6-Day: $736.44 to $762.77
7-Day: $752.08 to $785.48
Where the big jumps in price are to be found is for premium Park Hopper Plus tickets for longer stay. Check these adult prices out:
Park Hopper Plus Tickets
8-Day: $790.66 to $828.03
9-Day: $803.76 to $844.66
10-Day: $815.47 to $863.16

Overall, though, I have to say that it looks like Disney has kept prices the same or raised them slightly for low-end tickets (i.e. less perks and fewer days). At the same time they’ve raised prices on very long stays with lots of pluses. Does that mean that Disney is penalizing the wealthy that can afford those types of very long stays? Yes. But all in all, these are modest price hikes at a time that Disney wouldn’t have surprised me to go way up across the board. They’re looking for the sweet spot, right? So far, guests just keep coming no matter how much they charge them for stuff once they’re passed the turnstiles.
So let us know what you think about these changes in the comments below. And as always, That Park Place isĀ your place for all news thatĀ should be fun!
