A new report from the website, Daily Caller, features images of flyers up in custodial areas of Epcot. Allegedly, cast members are being asked to publicly declare their preferred gender pronouns.
In a move that is sure to garner significant attention in Florida, Disney World has begun offering pronoun pins for its employees, as reported by several workers who spoke to the Daily Caller under the condition of anonymity. The EPCOT theme park at Walt Disney World is at the forefront of this initiative, allowing employees to designate their preferred pronouns to be displayed on their name pins by simply scanning a QR code. Photos taken on November 5 were shared with the Daily Caller, showcasing the new feature.
As of now, the program is entirely voluntary, and it is currently being implemented for all janitorial positions within the theme park. A form circulated among employees expresses the excitement about the introduction of pronoun name tags, emphasizing their role in fostering better understanding and a positive impact within the community.
The form reads, “Hi everyone, we are excited to introduce pronoun name tags in our area! Pronoun name tags help us understand each other more and bring a positive impact within our community!”
Daily Caller is reporting that EPCOT Custodians will be given the option of having name tags with pronouns on them… and those name tags are trash cans.
Accidental symbolism is lost on them, I see.https://t.co/ub3m8CD8mN pic.twitter.com/3xYqkCawoq

The initial phase of the initiative is reportedly focusing on the custodial department, with plans to expand to include every department within the park in the future. This step towards inclusivity reflects a broader commitment to recognizing and respecting individual gender identities among Disney World employees.
Interestingly, one employee shared that a previous attempt to wear a pronoun pin by their name tag had been discouraged, citing a violation of the company’s uniform policy. However, with the introduction of the new initiative, it appears that Disney World is actively evolving its stance on employee expression and self-identification.
Flyers announcing the availability of pronoun pins are still prominently displayed in custodial areas within EPCOT, signaling the ongoing rollout of this voluntary and inclusive program. As Disney World takes this step, it joins a growing number of organizations acknowledging the importance of recognizing and validating diverse gender identities in the workplace.
As this news is breaking after normal office hours for Disney, we will be reaching out tomorrow to see if Disney has any comment regarding this new change. We’re also curious if this fails to comply with any Floridian legislation or CFTOD requirements.
