Disney World Offers More Opportunities to Save as Guests Challenge Costs

The Walt Disney Company is clearing working to find ways for lowering their prices in non-peak seasons (and some peak times as well). Is the current cost too high?

For nearly all of 2022, fans of Disney Parks have been complaining about the rise in costs to attend both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The world’s biggest theme park company has been tenacious in increasing prices for food, drinks, services and previous free perks. If there’s a parking fee out there, Disney is working to increase it. If there’s an upcharge to be had, they’re having it. So although ticket prices have not popped along with everything else, the net outcome is still the same. Unless you’re packing picnic sandwiches and drinking water all day long, plus waiting the full time for every ride, you’re going to pay much more than in the past.

Now, the ceiling may have been reached. We covered last week the situation Disney finds itself in with lowered hotel costs even during the peak holiday season. That was followed up by Disney days later with a public announcement explaining how guests can cut costs to a Disney Park. It would seem that they’re clearly identifying the need for elasticity while inflation drives potential guests to cheaper venues. It also should be said that Universal Studios has been gaining on Disney in ways never seen. That has Disney management more concerned than since they concocted MGM Studios (now Disney’s Hollywood Studios) to stave off a new, serious competitor.

Here are the suggestions Disney provides for keeping costs low:

1.     Winter and Spring Travel Packages – While delighting in winter festivities is extra magical, springtime is also another great time to visit Walt Disney World Resort with sunny skies, delicious fresh cuisine, and vibrant blooming flowers around every corner. On select dates this winter and spring, guests can save up to $400 on a 4-night, 4-day Walt Disney World Travel Company room and ticket package at select Disney Resort hotels. To learn more, visit DisneyWorld.com/Save.

2.     Florida Resident Discounts – Looking for your next staycation destination? Florida residents, look no further than a Disney Resort hotel with something for the whole family – whether you want to relax poolside, take part in recreation activities or enjoy a memorable Disney dining experience. Florida residents can enjoy special savings of up to 20% for stays at select Disney Resort hotels on select dates in early 2023. For additional details, visit DisneyWorld.com/FLSave.

3.     Walt Disney World Annual Passholder Travel Deals – Annual Passholders can also take advantage of special deals when they stay in the magic! Passholders can save up to 25% on rooms at select Disney Resort hotels on select travel dates over the coming months. Passholders can visit DisneyWorld.com/Offers to find out more.

We also have special Disney Resort hotel offers for Disney+ subscribers and Disney Visa Cardholders DisneyWorld.com/DisneyPlus. As always, guests can visit DisneyWorld.com/Offers for the latest deals and discounts.

One of the best – and most popular – benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is more time to play in the parks. When you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, you can take advantage of a 30-minute early entry into the theme parks every day. When you stay at a Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort, you can also enjoy extended evening hours, in select parks, on select nights (now through all of 2023)!*

That’s from the official Disney Parks Blog, so you know they’re looking at something that says they need to bring in lower income families. Otherwise, why would you be cutting prices for the holidays and offering tips to lower overall expenditures?

Of course, we’re just reading the pixie-dust coated tea leaves…
