Disney has removed the 2027 opening reference from the Tropical Americas listing on the Walt Disney World website.

This change affects the project’s listing in the resort’s “Coming Soon” section. The page previously described Tropical Americas as an 11-acre land scheduled to open in 2027. The updated listing no longer includes an opening year. However, it has added more details on the upcoming area.

The change doesn’t confirm that Disney has delayed the project. In fact, Disney Parks Blog continues to list 2027 as the planned opening year. So is it an oversight, or a subtle way of saying the project is taking longer than hoped?

2027 Opening Removed

The previous Walt Disney World listing described the upcoming project as so:

Tropical Americas: Pueblo Esperanza — Get ready to journey to an 11-acre, immersive land in 2027. This Village of Hope will feature an exciting Encanto attraction, an action-packed Indiana Jones attraction, a woodcarver-themed carousel and more.

However, as of September 10, the announcement now says:

Tropical Americas: Prepare for your journey to an 11-acre land. This village of hope will feature new attractions like the joyful Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto and action-packed Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent—plus a handcrafted El Carrusel de los Animalitos featuring wooden animal figures inspired by Disney and Pixar films.

Fans are excited to now have the exact names for the three new rides.

However, the new description has dropped the 2027 opening from its description. Is the project running behind?

Disney Parks Blog also cited 2027 in an April 2026 update about the project. This article has not been updated to remove the 2027 opening.

This leaves enough to question whether Disney has truly pushed back the new land’s unveiling. At the same time, the omission from the Walt Disney World website’s update still casts doubt on whether construction will complete all 11-acres in time for a 2027 opening.

Has Tropical Americas Been Delayed?

There’s currently no official Disney announcement confirming a delay.

However, an unnamed source has told WDWMagic that the construction is moving ahead at at an aggressive pace. But is it aggressive enough to meet the current timeline?

Considering DinoLand U.S.A. only closed a few months ago on February 2 of this year, there’s a lot to be built or re-themed across all 11 acres. The Indiana Jones ride will replace the Dinosaur ride. Additionally, Disney is adding two new rides, a carousel and an Encanto-themed ride. Plus, construction crews will need to finish the restaurant, gift shop, and playground before opening day.

What Happens Next

The removal of the date from the Walt Disney World listing is a notable change, but it does not currently provide enough information to establish a new opening schedule.

Disney World will likely add more details to the opening of Tropical Americas as time progress, whether the current 2027 timeline is still in place or not.
