Dollywood Resort opened today after a one-day delay due to weather. The theme park had been planned to open on March 12th, but a mid-March snowstorm dropped about four inches of wintry fun over the Tennessee Smoky Mountains. Thus the new season started on a Sunday instead, Dolly Parton present again to ring in the festivities.
The park has no major additions this year after several seasons of major expansions. Still, work was done to eliminate an old structure that will be used now as a nature and rest area.
