Dollywood Christmas

The Sign For Dollywood's Award Winning Christmas Celebration

Reservations are now highly-recommended before going to Dollywood due to capacity and social distancing…

Dollywood is one of the most popular tourist destinations, especially during the holiday season. Once a small, regional theme park, Dollywood has become a juggernaut in the industry, winning award after award for its cleanliness, friendliness, AND its Christmas presentation. Over four million Christmas lights are strung each year in the park, and throngs of guests pass through the turnstiles each November and December.

Now, due to capacity and social distancing, Dollywood is requesting that guests make a reservation to the park ONLY if they plan to attend prior to 6 PM EST each day. This is different than Disney Parks which uses a mandatory system of online reservations in order to gain entry. It appears that Dollywood is, instead, asking guests to help them with reservations so that Dollywood can adequately prepare for numbers, maintaining social distancing, and “safe” use of the theme park. It does not seem that Dollywood is turning away guests for lack of online reservation, although they may have to turn guests away if maximum capacity is reached (just like always). While a reservation is required, we’re told that Dollywood is attempting to register guests at the entrance if they do not yet have a reservation and availability is open.

Dollywood Requests Reservations for Christmas Season

“In order to play safe for our guests and hosts and maintain social distancing, we are requesting that all guests let us know when you are planning to visit. Reservations are now available 60 days out.”

To make a reservation, and we recommend you do, you can go to Dollywood’s website here.

While at Dollywood, bundle up. Temperatures in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains can be quite frigid. And you’re going to need that thick coat while riding Thunderhead, the wooden roller coaster many consider to be the best in North America!

Have you been to Dollywood lately? Have you seen the Christmas lights? Let us know your review in the comments below! We, and our readers, would love to hear your thoughts…
