Tis the season to be jingling and all that fa-la-la-la-lah-ing is in there somewhere, too. We all treasure these times of family, feasting, ending one year and renewing the promise of the next new one, and no matter our particular faith, creed, or traditions, it is a good bet that more family photos are taken, more recipes exchanged, more laughter heard and more loving embraces enjoyed now that at any other time of the year.

And that is GOOD and PROPER and RIGHT.

But now something has changed, and I think it needs to be addressed: LOTS of us have a LOT of those memories at theme parks and tourism destinations where the disparate parts of families, friendships, colleagues and chums gathered together and, well, that’s become a lot harder to do.

This isn’t the “holiday season”, it’s the Christmas season and everyone else wants to get in on the action because of the never ending assault on everything Christian in modern western civilization. The people trying to tear down Christianity that also live among us are far worse than our enemies abroad. A wise man taken before his time once said “If I had but one bullet and were faced by both an enemy and a traitor, I would let the traitor have it.”

Beyond all that, the real reason for all of this is to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Be proud of your faith and celebrate it at all times, and don’t be afraid to wish everyone you meet a Merry Christmas. The enemies of our Lord despise our exaltations of Him and our happiness in His service more than anything, and our joyous greetings and songs are like the din of hell itself to them. And should any blasphemer or apostate confront you, don’t be angry or hateful, simply smile and wish them a Merry Christmas again and be on your way, for true compassion and kindness drives the demons in these people wild with rage. So with all that said, I wish all who read this and any of my other comments a Merry Christmas and the blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ upon you.
