Elon Musk declared Sweet Baby Inc. as an “evil blight on the gaming industry” after one of the company’s employees, Chris Kindred, attempted to cancel Asmongold after it was announced he was turned into an official pawn by Capcom for Dragon’s Dogma II.

The official Dragon’s Dogma account announced Asmongold along with a number of other YouTubers and streamers would be available as official pawns in the game in a post to X on March 15th.
The account posted, “Introducing the second round of Dragon’s Dogma II Official Pawns! Now joining the fray… The Sphere Hunter, Asmongold, Woolie Woolz, SuperRADLemon, Annie Fuchsia, Arekkz Gaming, Kit Ellis, Joueur du Grenier + more!”

In Dragon’s Dogma II players are take on the role of a customizable character called the Arisen. The Arisen leads a party of up to three different pawns. The pawns are available to customize and Capcom promises that “over time, your Pawn will become a worthy companion on your journey, as they learn through their experiences, adventuring with you as well as with other players, which will be reflected on their behavior.”
The developer also shared, “Specializers are a new unique feature of Pawns. The ability to translate Elvish is one of many specializations: if a Pawn who has learnt Elvish is nearby, they will automatically interpret it for you. There are many other specializations, which will add color to a Pawn’s personality.”
As for the official pawns such as Asmongold, Capcom explains there is no Rift Crystal cost when hiring Official Pawns up to level 10, once hired, their equipment cannot be changed, they do not appear in certain features such as daily and overall rankings, and some may have a limited availability period. Furthermore their name is displayed in a different colour.

As reported by X user PandasAndVidya, Sweet Baby Inc. employee Chris Kindred reacted to this announcement that Asmongold was one of the Official Pawns by accusing him of engaging in a harassment campaign.
Kindred wrote, “That’s crazy isn’t one of these people is an active participant in a harassment campaign.”

This is where Musk made his comments. He reacted to Cheong’s post writing, “Sweet Baby Inc is an evil blight on the gaming industry. All they do is make games terrible and try to cancel people.”
He added, “They cannot go broke soon enough!”

As noted by both Cheong and PandasAndVidya Kindred is one of the Sweet Baby Inc. employees who led a cancel campaign against Brazilian gamer KabrutusRambo after he created a Steam Curator list. The list includes all games that Sweet Baby Inc. have worked on that are available to purchase on Steam.
The list currently has over 292,000 followers and features 16 games. They are: Tales of Kenzera: Zau, Neo Cab, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Afterlove EP, Gotham Knights, South of Midnight, Kingdom Eighties, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, Hyper Light Breaker, Breeze in the Clouds, Goodbye Volcano High, Usual June, Battle Shapers, Sable, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Kindred attempted to cancel the list as well as KabrutusRambo beginning at the end of February writing on X, “The Steam curator harassment group Sweet Baby Inc detected is lead by this person, kabrutusrambo. Here’s them trying to be slick so they don’t get reported. Even with the discriminatory language filed off, the group itself still fails the code of conduct.”

More recently, Kindred doubled down on calling for the Steam Curator list to be shut down and called followers of the list “Nazis.”
Kindred wrote on X, “they’re just writing fanfiction at this point. The group still should be taken down btw, if not for the conspiracies then definitely the Nazis. They’re doing phrenology in there.”

What do you make of Musk’s comments on Sweet Baby Inc.?
Well, Elon Musk is right, Sweet Baby Inc. is such an evil organization.
SBI just keep shooting themselves in the foot. Asmongold is a milquetoast centrist and if I’m to guess he just reported on the issue without taking side, but this cancellation attempt is going to backfire. Musk amplifying it is quite nice. I hope he realises after that Lemon struggle session that the SJWs are not looking for a compromise, but rather complete submission.
