Excellent analysis from the YouTube channel Valliant Renegade has demonstrated that Fantastic Beasts is likely to lose around $100 million for Warner Bros. Franchises come and franchises go — should Harry Potter continue to be a focal point of cultural frustrations, it could be that Warner Bros is running out of options with this IP. Is it time to call Daniel Radcliffe away from documentaries on Weird Al and get the grown up Harry Potter stars back together? Emma Watson will likely be an expensive celebrity for reprisal but it may be all that’s left if Warner Bros is to squeeze more money out of the once boy Wizard’s world.
