The first teaser trailer for The Faithful: Women of the Bible has been released. The forthcoming series dramatizes narratives from the Old Testament’s Book of Genesis through the perspectives of five key female figures.
Fox Entertainment serves as the producer of the film. After each episode airs on Fox, Hulu will share each episode the day on its platform. Minnie Driver stars as Sarah, one of the central characters in the Genesis account.
The Faithful teaser trailer offers early glimpses of Driver in the role of Sarah. It depicts the emotional and relational challenges tied to her long-awaited promise of a child. In the preview, Sarah faces tensions with her husband, Abraham. She also navigates a complex relationship with her servant, Hagar.
The Faithful: Women of the Bible is structured as a multi-week programming event. It will run over three consecutive Sundays beginning March 22, 2026, on Fox. Each episode is scheduled as a two-hour installment. The finale is set for Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The Five Women Featured
The narrative approach of The Faithful centers on five women from the Book of Genesis whose personal stories and choices carry lasting cultural and theological significance. Across three episodes, the series follows three generations of matriarchs: Sarah and Hagar, Rebekah, and sisters Leah and Rachel.

In addition to Sarah, the cast includes Hagar, Sarah’s servant, whose child plays a pivotal role in the lineage narratives of the Abrahamic traditions. The series also features Rebekah and her intervention between the future of her twin sons. Leah and Rachel appear as sisters whose bond comes under strain as rivalry grows between them in adulthood.
Jeffrey Donovan appears as Abraham, Sarah’s husband and a central patriarchal figure in the Genesis account. Additional cast members include Tom Mison, Tom Payne, Ben Robson, James Purefoy, Taylor Napier, and Will Stevens in supporting roles.
Behind the Scenes
Production credits for the series include veteran television producers and writers. Carol Mendelsohn, known for her work on procedural drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, serves as an executive producer. René Echevarria, who has writing and showrunner credits on series such as Carnival Row and The 4400, is also an executive producer and showrunner. Julie Weitz is another executive producer attached to the project.
Filming for the series took place on location in Rome and Matera, Italy, settings chosen to evoke the historical milieu of the biblical narratives.

According to official descriptions tied to the teaser and network press materials, the series aims to depict these ancient narratives by exploring themes such as love, marriage, family dynamics, temptation, and faith through the emotional and interpersonal experiences of its characters.
The teaser release marks one of the initial steps in Fox’s promotional rollout for The Faithful, which precedes the March premiere. As the broadcast date approaches, further marketing and additional previews are expected to follow.
It also follows as faith-based productions gain popularity among audiences. Christian-based Angel Studios has stood out creating and distributing biblical-based stories. The improved quality on the writing and production quality earning greater attention in a genre that was often considered niche or poorly made. From film-series the Chosen following the life of Jesus, to children’s film such as David and King of Kings. However, even more mainstream distributors are also beginning to venture back into the realm of biblical accounts, with Amazon Prime producing TV series House of David.
