Whoa. You would not want to be at Walt Disney World right now…
WDWMagic.com is reporting that the various apps for Disney Park guests at Walt Disney World are down today. These are the same apps that are practically necessary now to order food, to use paid “Lightning Lane” passes, and more. Any backup plans that Disney may have for this sort of situation are probably in full effect at this moment. This would appear to a complete failure and loss of Disney Parks’ full suite of in-park apps.

When the Lightning Lane is almost as long as the standby line for Haunted Mansion, it's time to reevaluate this Genie+ thing.

This comes on the same day that Monorail issues resulted in free Lighting Lane passes AND Disneyland rolls out the service. Oy ve.

12/7/21 2:00 PM EST: Gotta Go Orlando is reporting that the issues are ongoing with some guests not even able to enter the parks due to the issues.
Problems are still persisting with some guests unable to scan into the parks!

12/7/21 3:15 PM EST: Add the WDW Monorail to the list. Magic Kingdom monorails are down due to a failed switch stuck in place. Talk about a nightmare scenario at the park… apps down + the monorail.
12/8/21 9:20 AM EST: We’re waiting to hear how things go today after Amazon’s worldwide server systems experienced major outages yesterday, resulting in downtime for Disney Parks’ apps. The monorail for Magic Kingdom is expected to be inoperable for days as work will need to occur on the switch system before any transit can occur on the MK lines.
12/8/21 10:45 AM EST: Things are working better but still not perfect at Walt Disney World. Here’s one guest’s experience as posted on the WDW Magic Forums:
“And again today…waiting for the park open to get a LL+ for Avatar FOP…managed to get a 5pm slot, got to the payment page…pressed pay…it toggled round for 30 seconds then said there’s been an error and to start again…at which point all the LL+ had gone.” — Thepuma
