Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and the operators behind Earl of Sandwich have announced a collaboration to open a British‑style gastropub named Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

Location, Layout, and Capacity

The restaurant will occupy the second floor of a new Earl of Sandwich building under construction in Downtown Disney. The ground floor will host the quick‑service Earl of Sandwich. The upstairs pub will serve as a full table‑service concept. The reported seating capacity is 175 across indoor dining, a bar, and two outdoor terraces.

According to public statements, Earl Enterprises will manage the development, while Gordon Ramsay North America will oversee culinary operations. This is the first collaboration between Gordon Ramsay’s brand and the Walt Disney Company. The partnership expands Earl Enterprises’ footprint at Disneyland Resort, where it has maintained a presence since 2012.

Theme and Atmosphere

The concept is styled after London in the 1960s, drawing on the energy of the British pop and rock era. The name comes from Carnaby Street, a well‑known hub of fashion and youth culture in that period. Interiors are expected to include booths, a bar, concert poster décor, and two terraces with elevated views over parts of Downtown Disney. The plan includes ambient live music on select evenings, featuring songs from British Invasion acts of the 1960s.

Commenting on why the 1960s theme, Ramsay said, “All eyes were on London in the 1960s, a full-on fantastic technicolor scene of people going out and having fun. We are bringing those cool vibes to Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby. Stunning interiors, incredible food and great music, whether it’s date night or dinner with friends or family, The Carnaby is going to bring the very best of cool Britannia to Downtown Disney District.”

Menu and Beverage Offerings

The menu will lean on classic British fare. Ramsay’s world-famous beef Wellington will feature on the menu, with other British favorites such as fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding.

The restaurant will operate under a full liquor license, offering a selection of cocktails, wine, and beer.

Timing, Strategy, and Context

Disney and Ramsay revealed the partnership on October 9, 2025. No official opening date has been announced; some sources anticipate a 2026 launch.

The project appears as part of a broader refresh of the Downtown Disney dining experience, which includes other chef‑led venues such as Din Tai Fung, Paseo (by Carlos Gaytán), and projects by Joe Isidori.

Considerations and Unknowns

This restaurant is one of the more prominent chef‑driven proposals within the Disneyland resort’s dining evolution. The collaboration with Earl of Sandwich suggests a shared operational role rather than a solo Ramsay venture.

Because no opening timeline is available, details such as pricing, reservation policy, and full menu breadth remain speculative.
