Universal Studios Hollywood is adding Nikki from Obsession to its 2026 Halloween Horror Nights event. The character will appear as a roaming performer during select event nights.
Universal announced the addition during its Halloween Horror Nights panel at Midsummer Scream on August 9, 2026. The announcement came alongside the final additions to this year’s event lineup.
Nikki From ‘Obsession’ Will Roam the Event
“Freaky Nikki,” as Universal describes her, will appear in the version seen near the end of Obsession.
John Murdy, executive producer and creative director of Halloween Horror Nights, discussed the character’s appearance in an interview with Cosmopolitan. “It’s a specific choice of which version of her we wanted to really focus on, and it’s the version at the very end of the film where she’s all bloody, she’s taken her friend’s dress, and she’s drawn the tattoos all over her body.”

The character will make a special nightly appearance, according to Universal’s announcement.
‘Obsession’ Stars Inde Navarrette as Nikki
Obsession comes from writer and director Curry Barker. Focus Features released the horror film in theaters on May 15, 2026.
The movie stars Michael Johnston as Bear and Inde Navarrette as Nikki.

The story follows Bear, who wants to win Nikki’s affection. He turns to a mysterious novelty-store object called the One Wish Willow.
The wish gives Bear what he wants, but it also creates increasingly disturbing consequences. His actions affect Nikki and those around him.
Inde Navarrette Had Previously Discussed Halloween Horror Nights
Navarrette discussed the possibility of bringing Nikki to Halloween Horror Nights before Universal made its announcement.
In a June 2026 interview, Navarrette said she wanted to play Nikki at the event. At that point, she did not expect the opportunity to happen during the 2026 season but said that it would be her “dream.” She continued saying, “Next year, if they do a HHN, I want to do a couple days where I’m Nikki. Like at Disneyland with Johnny Depp being Jack Sparrow. That would be so much fun!”
The idea gained momentum after Barker expressed his desire to see Nikki at Halloween Horror Nights. Murdy told Cosmopolitan that the creative team acted quickly after Barker’s video.
Universal has not announced Navarrette as the performer for Nikki’s Halloween Horror Nights appearances.
Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Dates
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood will take place on select nights from September 3 through November 1, 2026. Universal lists the event as a separately ticketed experience.
The event’s announced lineup includes haunted houses based on Sinners, Stranger Things 5, Evil Dead Burn and Hellraiser. Universal has also announced additional haunted houses.

The event will also feature the Terror Tram starring Art the Clown, along with scare zones and other entertainment. Universal warns that Halloween Horror Nights may be too intense for young children and does not recommend the event for children under 13.
Limited Details
The confirmed details about Nikki’s appearance remain limited. Universal will bring the character from Obsession to Halloween Horror Nights as a roaming character in her final version from the film. Whether Navarrette will portray the character remains to be seen.
