Halo Infinite, the open world Halo game Microsoft hopes will take the world by storm, is certainly showing that it has some hefty content. The game will reportedly launch with a file size of 97 GB, but will then top 100 GB with updates, including a potential launch-day patch.
For comparison, The Master Chief Collection, which contains Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4, along with additional content, is only 105 GB. Halo Infinite may be nearly as large (and eventually larger) than all the original Halo games combined. Now don’t forget that much of this increase comes from the higher resolution textures required for modern games… but still, that’s a large game file!
More information is coming out about Halo Infinite as we get closer and closer to launch. With just a few weeks left before the game releases, 343 Studios Community Manager Brian Jarrard is announcing more details are forthcoming on the game that has recaptured the attention of gamers everywhere. Campaign videos released and included in this article have really jumped the level of enthusiasm for Halo Infinite, with many potential consumers remarking on the utter scale of the game… as well as its original Halo CE aesthetic.
Hmmm… how long is too long when it comes to an Inside Infinite blog? Asking for a friend.🤔

We have two teams on deck this month who are eager to share insights into their work and process – the #HaloInfinite Character Team and UXUI Team. Shaping up nicely, on track for tomorrow, lots of words, lots of cool visuals. 🔥

Given more of Jarrard’s communications, we expect more Halo Infinite insights to be revealed later today and Friday before Halloween. It’s off to the races for the studio as they attempt to do something incredibly difficult: replicate Bungie’s Halo CE popularity and launch Xbox Series S/X back into contention with Playstation 5 off of the strength of a single, massive game. With the lack of forthcoming games as a result of pandemic slowdowns in development, they just might pull it off.
To get an idea of how excited gamers are about Halo Infinite, take a look at how it is comparing in internet buzz versus Call of Duty and Overwatch:
As soon as Halo Infinite launches, That Park Place will have a review up with a deep dive into everything about the game. Until then, here’s to memories of Blood Gulch and LAN parties. We hope you IBC root beer back then… it made rocket sniping a Warthog so much sweeter.
The one-year delay ends this holiday season.
