Starting with the 96th Academy Awards in 2024, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences implemented new representation and inclusion standards for films to be eligible for the Best Picture category. These standards, part of the Academy Aperture 2025 initiative, require films to meet at least two out of four criteria.
