Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen recently became the latest Hollywood actor to speak out against woke ideology and identity politics in filmmaking.
In what can only be described as a changing of the wind, more Hollywood actors are starting to push back on Hollywood’s strict adherence to woke culture and leftist political stances.

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is just the latest in a line of fed up celebrities who seem to be ready to get back to making movies instead of checking woke boxes on an ESG worksheet.
“You don’t get any film support if you don’t follow orders from those in power,” Mikkelsen said to Swedish news outlet Svenska Dagbladet. “It’s risky because you want to create stories that are fun, interesting and challenging.”

He went on to claim that his home country of Denmark is a country that still believes in artistic freedom. Describing it as “the naughty little brother,” he then noted how that differs from the culture in Sweden, calling it “the good big brother where you have to follow the system.”
Mikkelsen highlighted a Swedish cultural shift that started in the 1980s. This pushed ideological conformity on the Swedish film industry, and Mikkelsen believes that’s why the quality of those films has suffered.
Mads Mikkelsen has hinted at his disgust with woke Hollywood in the past. Just last year, the actor got salty with an interviewer at the Venice Film Festival who questioned the “diversity” of his movie The Promised Land, which is a historical drama set in 18th century Denmark.
“This is a cast and Danish production which is entirely Nordic,” the interviewer stated. “It therefore has some lack of diversity.”
Mikkelsen immediately scoffed into the mic.
“What are you onto!?” he exclaimed while laughing and shaking his head. The reporter then clarified, stating that The Oscars and other film award shows have specific diversity requirements now that mandates all productions must tick certain boxes in terms of cast and crew to be considered for awards.

“I’m just curious,” the reporter attempted to clarify in the wake of Mikkelsen’s laughter. “It’s not because of artistic reasons, it’s because of a lack of diversity that this can’t compete in that competition. Are you worried about it?”
“Are you?” Mikkelsen asked. “I’m serious and honest, because you’re putting us on the spot, so you answer the question.”

Back in 2014, Mikkelsen also spoke out against woke ideology and political correctness.
“There has to be a balance between what is real and not real,” he said, speaking on the surge of female-led Danish crime dramas. “I will never be a fan of any kind of political correctness. I think it’s instant death to creativity.”

Marxists pretend like they listen to everyone. In reality, as Marxist people and countries have shown time and time again, you only get stories that the Marxists in power want to see.
Time to make THEIR faces melt in horror, Mads!
He seems like a decent dude. Woke Sweden is a nightmare worth mocking.
Another reason to like Mads.
I’ll take it.
