I have been hearing for a few weeks that Walt Disney World may be looking at a new way of increasing revenues. One of the rumored options is the possibility for a new Genie+ option that would be quite expensive compared to current offerings. As of now, Disney World offers a Genie+ option of $15 per day per guest that will allow customers to skip the main line for about three to four attractions per day. This option does not permit guests to choose one of the very top attractions… they are priced in a different scheme that will cost anywhere from eight to fifteen dollars per attraction. But a new possibility may be coming to fruition based on a Disneyland Paris rumor leak captured by WDWNT.
WDWNT is reporting on a potential ninety euro once-per-day program that would allow a guest to ride almost every attraction at Disneyland Paris (fourteen attractions with line skip options) a single time without waiting in line. This looks very similar to what a source had mentioned to me about Walt Disney World about three weeks ago. Essentially, Disney may be looking at implementing a Disney World program in which a guest can pay $100 to ride every line-skippable attraction without waiting in a single park per day. So, for example, under this potential plan, a guest could pay $100 and thereby receive a Lightning Lane pass for every single attraction at a park of their choosing in a single day. For a family of four, this would be $400 per day, but would eliminate nearly every single queue wait for the day.
There’s also the possibility of this coming to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, but as of publication I have not heard anything either way.
Now obviously this is rumor territory. I’m only running the story because now I’m seeing a similar rumor showing up for Disneyland Paris — that gives me some indication that this could be an option Disney is really looking at for Walt Disney World. That means it could be months away, it could be years away, it may also never happen. It could launch at a higher or lower price point. But either way, I want to bring this to your attention, if for no other reason than your enjoyment reading it. Take it with a dose of salt. All that said, I do think this is something that is a possibility Disney might implement, or may be looking at implementing, in the next eighteen months.
I know it wouldn’t be as profitable, but I think a system like Disneyland Paris’s Premier Access would be better than this. Tiered pricing per ride and guests can choose what they pay for.
No paying a flat fee and worrying about availability. Maximum flexibility for guests. https://t.co/fmzhib14pS

Should you plan your vacation with the idea that a Genie Premiere option may show up? Probably not. But it’s something to keep in the back of your mind and know it might materialize in the future.
And that’s the rumor as I know it…
For all the latest rumors on Disney World, there’s surely no better place than That Park Place! Feel free to drop a comment down below if you’re either in favor or against this potential program.
