Actress Jenny McCarthy recently asserted that many conservatives in Hollywood keep their political views private because of fear of backlash. She made these remarks during a December 11, 2025 appearance on the Culture Apothecary with Alex Clark podcast on the episode “Jenny McCarthy On Being Jesus First, Pro-Medical Freedom and Conservative.”

During the interview, McCarthy said there are “more conservatives than you would know hiding out in Hollywood.” She suggested that some individuals in the entertainment industry privately express conservative views but remain silent to avoid negative responses from the public and media.

McCarthy also claimed that a number of people who support what she described as conservative perspectives have reached out to her personally. This, she said, includes individuals who have expressed private support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement — a public health initiative led by Kennedy, who serves as the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.

When asked on the podcast about sentiments toward the MAHA movement within Hollywood, McCarthy said that some in the industry are “secretly very supportive.” She elaborated that both everyday parents and some celebrities contact her privately, saying they fear public criticism if their views become widely known.

Her comments have already received backlash online from people who disagree with her political stances. This is not the first time as she has spoken before on parents having the right to medical freedom.

Context of McCarthy’s Commentary

McCarthy has long engaged in public discussions about health and vaccines, particularly since her son’s autism diagnosis in 2005. The topic has long been a contentious one, as many have discussed whether children’s health is best entrusted to widespread expert guidelines or individually tailored to parental decision.

Her support of Kennedy predates his role as HHS secretary. McCarthy and her husband, actor Donnie Wahlberg, endorsed Kennedy’s 2024 presidential campaign before he suspended it.

Other Conservative Voices

McCarthy isn’t the first conservative in Hollywood to express the difficulties they face in the industry. Actors such as James Wood have shared getting blacklisted for their conservative views. Zachary Levi shares that a lot of conservatives in Hollywood are “terrified to publicly say that they would vote for Donald Trump or be conservative in any way.”

It’s not surprising after some have lost popular roles for what seems to be political reasons. One of the biggest names recently was Gina Carano after her character Cara Dune was left out of new seasons of The Mandalorian for posts she made on Twitter.

And their voices are joined by others such as Dennis Quaid, Pat Boone, and more.

This isn’t news. After the woke took over, they purged anyone even slightly right of Mao. That’s why Hollywoke is such a disaster now and has been since before the lockdowns: they purged everyone with any intelligence and creativity. Anyone that dares dissent has to either remain silent or leave the industry altogether unless they’re huge stars.
