It was about this time of the year two years ago when everything shut down because of the pandemic. We decided to sell our house to downsize. We sold our house and bought a condo. The only problem is that we closed on our house on June 8th and closing on our condo was not until July 8th. So, we had to find a place to stay for a month. This is where our timeshare with Hilton Grand Vacations Club came in real handy.
Almost In Panic Mode
When the closing dates were determined, we were in a little nit of a panic mode. Then we settled down after realizing that we had a bunch of points to use with our timeshare. Hardly anyone would be traveling because of everything being locked down. We looked at Florida first since it had the fewest restrictions at the time. There were no rooms available in the short time we had to plan for this extended stay. I checked Myrtle Beach in South Carolina and there happened to be a room at the Anderson Ocean Club. We were able to get a room that was oceanside for two weeks.

Two Weeks in Myrtle Beach
My wife and I were ready to get away for a couple of weeks after feverishly packing all of our belongings up in a couple of 1-800-Pack-Rat storage units. We had been to Myrtle Beach a couple of times before for basketball camps for our daughter and another time for vacation. We had a general idea where everything was that we wanted to do while there, however, we spent a great deal of time enjoying sunrises, the beach and each other’s company.
Anderson Ocean Club
Check in was very easy and it was a bit more crowded than we had expected. Rooms were spacious and clean. The pool deck was limited in space compared to the other HGV resorts we had visited. This was a minor adjustment. The morning walks enjoying the sunrise was a special part of our stay. The staff was second to none. The location, in terms of things to do, was pretty awesome. Miniature golf and several restaurants were just steps away from the resort. Not too far away were two separate outlet malls for shopping.
Business Friendly Rooms
While we stayed at the Anderson Ocean Club, I was able to attend several Zoom meetings. It was quite a treat to be Zooming with new colleagues that I would be working with in the next couple of months. I had just retired from teaching in one state and was going to another state to teach. Looking out the window at the ocean, enjoying the beautiful view and the sounds of the waves, made these Zoom meetings quite doable. So, the wi-fi was outstanding and didn’t have any issues with signals.

Broadway At The Beach
This is a place that we visited on numerous occasions while we were visiting Myrtle Beach. Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen is a must do for everyone. We also ate at Landry’s for the first time and it was a very pleasurable experience for us. We didn’t get to eat this Margaritaville, but they have one. I’ve never been disappointed with Margaritaville. There are several other places to eat that we need to visit the next time there. These include Hard Rock Cafe, King Kong Sushi, Sweet Carolina’s, The Grumpy Monk, Wahlburgers and Wet Willie’s.
Please feel free to share any other timeshare experiences in Myrtle Beach with us. I know that I am always looking for new adventures and experiences.
