Unclaimed Baggage is a unique store that my family usually visits two or three times a year in Scottsboro, Alabama. When I say you just wouldn’t believe what people would leave on a plane or cruise, I mean it. Unclaimed Baggage’s website is quite descriptive of this.
WELCOME TO UNCLAIMED BAGGAGEThe nation’s only retailer of lost luggage
You never know what you’ll find
On the mezzanine level, you’ll find a number of electronics in their secure display case containing tablets, laptops, video game consoles, phones, cameras and headsets was impressive. All electronics are checked out to be functional by their staff. Prices were very reasonable. One MacBook was $1900. I looked up the same laptop at Best Buy and it retailed for $3700.
I have heard several family members and friends tell me that they don’t buy expensive sunglasses because they always lose them. It’s quite possible they could have left them in their luggage and somehow made its way to Scottsboro. The most popular and expensive eyewear will be located in the secure display case. I’ve seen and bought Costas and Oakleys at a fraction of the cost in retail stores.
I looked all through the sporting goods looking to score a huge deal. I found a hard travel golf case for $75. I looked this up online and the cheapest I could find was $300. I found fins, snorkels and diving equipment, tennis rackets, tents, golf clubs and golf bags along with all types of athletic attire including shoes.
The main store displays all kinds of women’s clothes, shoes, jewelry, handbags and accessories. Many name brands you’ll find are Express, The Loft, Louis Vuitton, Guess along with many others. We saw a Louis Vuitton handbag for $1300. My wife said this was a great deal. I’ll take her word on that.
The men’s clothing has been moved to its own separate building. I’ve scored some great finds finding Ralph Lauren dress shirts for $7-12. You’ll find a huge selection of golf shirts, light jackets, heavy coats, suits, ties, shorts and many other items.
After a couple of hours of shopping, we were getting a bit hungry. No problem for UB. They have a deli/cafe right in the store. My wife had the turkey club combo (sandwich, chips and beverage) while I had the barbecue sandwich combo. They were very generous portions and quite delicious. It also was very reasonable in price. We ate for less than $20. They offer desserts, wraps and Starbucks’ coffees and frappes.
