Are you ready for daily reporting from a crazy trip across the northern midwest section of the United States? John Golf plots out the trip that will feature video interviews, video blogs and much, much more. You’ve never known John Golf like he’s about to be discovered… all while he discovers the beauty of a ride to Yellowstone!
The Tortuga Brothers is the name my two brothers and I gave ourselves after our trip to the Florida Keys. This trip was completed in June of 2018. Our party will be minus one of the original members. However, the itinerary has been made for our trip out to Yellowstone National Park beginning May 27th and ending June 10th. So, what are we planning on doing before we arrive in Yellowstone National Park?

Days 1-3
Our original plans had us leaving on May 29, the morning after my niece’s graduation. Graduation is actually on May 27th, so we are leaving straight from her graduation and hitting the road out west. We will drive through the night and all day on the 28th and hope to be in Rapid City, SD. The picture posted above is of Rapid City. The 29th looks like we’ll be pretty busy with stops at Badlands National Park, Custer State Park-Wildlife Loop, Crazy Horse Memorial and end the day at Mount Rushmore. We’ll stay the night in Sturgis
Days 3-6
We’ll start off exploring Sturgis where we could possibly see the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame. Our next stop will take us to Deadwood, S.D. Anyone that has watched Deadwood, the HBO series and the movie, knows there is a lot of historical significance of this small town. We’ll then make our way to Spearfish Canyon, which is the home to several spectacular waterfalls (I’m a huge fan of beautiful waterfalls). Then we’ll take a quick trip into North Dakota just so we can say we have been to this state (trying to hit all 50 before I’m 60).

Our next stop will take us to Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming. May 31 we will spend at Bighorn National Forest and then roll into Cody, Wyoming where our VRBO is located. We’ll spend a week at this cabin overlooking the Yellowstone River.

My next article will consist of the plans we have made for our week in Cody. If you see something that we must do along this trip, please feel free to share. We will try to hit as many historical and some out of the ordinary sites that we possibly can. My brother is an avid photographer so we should have some awesome pics to go along with future articles.

Be blessed and safe travels!!!
