As Universal prepares to open its most ambitious theme park yet, Epic Universe, Disney’s top park executive (and future Disney CEO hopeful) Josh D’Amaro is pushing back against concerns over competition, stating that Disney has been “on the offensive” for years in the battle for Orlando tourism dominance. But while Universal is launching a massive new resort with multiple lands and hotels, Walt Disney World has no new attractions scheduled to open in 2025—only closures of longstanding guest favorites.

If we ever need proof there was someone worse for the job then Bob Iger, here it is. No ticket discounts this year, no new rides, attractions closing or shifting focus away from families to DINKs, what kind of “offensive” is that? Actually I know what kind it is: doomed to failure.

Going on the offence means you have to: Cut prices, increase spend on marketing, build new attractions, and improve your services. All of these require investment of hard cash. In addition, they’re ripping out Walt’s legacy, it’s spiteful (woke) vandalism, IMHO, which will anger many.
Anyway, I’m pretty sure Disney is going broke, so, I cannot imagine they’re happy about the competition.
They’re also pushing alcohol, which is hardly family-friendly, and terrible for health / hangovers.
Talking of families, their woke movies are anti-family. The alphabet way of life means a greatly reduced birthrate – no future audience.
