On this week’s episode of The View, co-host Joy Behar once again took aim at Republicans — this time accusing them of being too afraid to face the show’s panel.
“I think we should have more Republicans on the show,” Behar said, before adding, “They’re scared of us.”

She then went on to say: “If they would come on this show and they can explain to us what they’re trying to do to this country, I’d like to hear it.”
Behar even quoted Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, claiming the Georgia congresswoman once said that Republican men are “afraid of powerful women” in a clear attempt to apply that moniker to the panel.
The comment drew a mix of laughter and applause from the audience — but outside the studio, conservatives weren’t exactly buying it.
Riley Gaines Responds: “They Said No”
Former NCAA swimmer and women’s rights advocate Riley Gaines quickly pushed back online, saying her own experience with The View contradicts Behar’s claim.

“When I was pitched to go on, they said no lol,” Gaines posted on X.
Her message was short but pointed — implying that, if anything, The View has been selective about which Republicans it actually allows to appear.
Donald Trump Jr. Reignites Old Battle with The View
The dispute also brought back memories of Donald Trump Jr.’s now-infamous 2019 appearance on the show.
Trump Jr. reminded followers of how heated that episode became, claiming the show’s moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, lost her temper with the audience during commercial breaks.
I’ve been on The View, and if you want to have some fun, you should go back and watch the episode. If you want to have even more fun, you should force ABC to release the footage during the commercial breaks. It was truly epic watching Whoopie MFing the crowd who turned on her. https://t.co/hie9hy0RiP

“I’ve been on The View, and if you want to have some fun, you should go back and watch the episode,” Trump Jr. wrote on X. “It was truly epic watching Whoopie MFing the crowd who turned on her.”
He added that Goldberg shouted at the New York audience: “This isn’t a F$&?ing MAGA rally.”
Like you wouldn’t believe. to a crowd of very liberal New Yorkers I believe the exact word were.”This isn’t a F$&?ing MAGA rally”
These weren’t my people. I think I got 8-10 tickets for friends in a crowd of about 150 New Yorkers so definitely wasn’t a stacked deck.

Trump Jr. also accused the hosts of misleading him about the purpose of his appearance:
“I was invited to talk about my book so I figured they’d at least ask me about it once, which of course they didn’t,” he said.
Also, I was invited to talk about my book so I figured they’d at least asked me about it once which of course they didn’t. Perhaps it’s their overall disingenuous nature and the way they treat Republicans differently that makes conservatives not want to go on.

While ABC has never released footage from the commercial breaks, multiple reports at the time — including from The Hollywood Reporter — confirmed that audience reactions during Trump’s visit were so loud that Goldberg had to stop the show and address the crowd off-camera.
The Cheryl Hines Interview Adds Fuel to the Fire
Behar’s latest comments came during the same week The View grilled actress Cheryl Hines, wife of Trump Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The interview grew tense when co-host Sunny Hostin challenged Kennedy’s qualifications to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

“Respectfully, your husband is the least qualified Department of Health and Human Services head that we have had in history,” Hostin told Hines. “I think that’s very, very dangerous.”
When Hines attempted to defend her husband, Hostin repeatedly interrupted, leading Hines to calmly ask: “May I finish?”

Despite the sparring, moderator Whoopi Goldberg ended the segment cordially, thanking Hines for showing up when many public figures won’t.
“We don’t often get people on this show who we can ask these questions to,” Goldberg said. “I appreciate that you came on, and so I’m saying come back.”
A Tale of Two Guests: How The View Coddled a Convict and Attacked Conservatives
What makes Joy Behar’s comments on Republican coming on the show even more galling is that The View has already proven it isn’t “scary” to everyone — just to the wrong kind of guest. Earlier this year, Disney’s flagship daytime show rolled out the red carpet for Anthony Weiner, a disgraced former congressman who served time in federal prison for sending inappropriate material to a 15-year-old girl.
Rather than accountability, Weiner received applause.

From the moment he walked onstage, Joy Behar treated him like an old friend. She joked about his prison stint, saying, “Anthony, when you got out of the hoosegow,” while the audience clapped and laughed along. The only person who didn’t join in was Ana Navarro, who listed Weiner’s scandals in a monotone voice while the other hosts giggled through the segment.
At no point did anyone on The View remind viewers that Weiner’s name appears on the federal registry for offenders convicted of crimes involving minors. Instead, he was allowed to describe his conviction as a “journey,” comparing himself to Andrew Cuomo and even President Trump, while claiming personal growth.
“I’m a damn good politician,” he said — and the hosts even agreed.

That was the tone: applause, sympathy, and validation for a man whose crimes would make any parent’s skin crawl.
Now put that next to the way The View treated Cheryl Hines — a woman guilty of nothing more than standing by her husband. Sunny Hostin sneered that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was “the least qualified Department of Health and Human Services head we’ve had in history” and called him “dangerous.” Hines could barely get a word in.
Or look at Donald Trump Jr., who says the hosts never even mentioned his book — the reason he was invited — and that during commercial breaks, Whoopi Goldberg cursed out the audience, shouting, “This isn’t a F$&?ing MAGA rally!” The hosts referenced and promoted Weiner’s political comeback attempt many times in that interview.

So let’s be clear. A convicted felon got a laugh track. A conservative woman got an ambush. And a Trump got chaos.
If Joy Behar and her co-hosts truly want Republicans to show up on The View, maybe they should stop pretending it’s about courage. Conservatives aren’t afraid of them. They’re tired of the double standard — a show that hugs felons while heckling political opponents, all under the Disney banner of “family entertainment.”
Because when a program claps for Anthony Weiner but shouts down Cheryl Hines, it isn’t bravery keeping guests away. It’s disgust.
A Pattern of Partisanship
The same episode that saw Hines in the hot seat ended with Behar’s claim that Republicans are “scared.” Yet Behar’s remark — paired with the treatment of Hines and past embrace of Anthony Weiner — may have reinforced why many conservatives avoid The View altogether.
Riley Gaines says she was turned down. Trump Jr. says he was shouted down. And Cheryl Hines, though not a Republican herself, endured what many viewers saw as an ambush.

Behar insists the show wants dialogue. But when that dialogue looks more like a trial, it’s no surprise that few on the right are volunteering to step into the witness box.
Do you think Republicans should go on The View? Sound off in the comments and let us know!

“If they would come on this show and they can explain to us what they’re trying to do to this country, I’d like to hear it.”
This right here is why no conservative should want to go on the View. It’s a pre-established bias. She’s basically admitting that they’re going to railroad any conservative that comes on.
The achilles’ heel of leftists is accountability and honesty – this is why there is literally no point to even conversing with these people anymore. After Charlie Kirk it’s clear that we are past the point of having a discussion – having a discussion is what Charlie tried to do; and they shot him for it.
Speaking of being scared, I’m sure Joe Rogan and Megyn Kelly would love to have a 1 or 2 hour interview with Behar. I wonder if she would accept. After all, she would be seen by exponentially more viewers there than she is on her own show.
I’d love for a Republican to go there and just keep asking Whoopie when Theodore Rex 2 is coming out
Please, we all know that leftists do everything they can to make sure conservatives don’t have a voice. They refuse to platform their voices, they actively support censorship against them, they shout and scream if they try to host events (that they haven’t attempted to shut down), they refuse to talk to people with a different opinion if they come up to them at their protests. But yeah they’re the inclusive ones and we’re the people scared to speak. Tell me again, who came up with the term microaggression and pushed for “safe spaces”? Who pushed for trigger warnings? Who equates speech to violence?
They’re just a bunch of old harpies who use feminist tactics to discredit those they disagree with by reputation destruction tactics rather than using superior arguments and elevate their own social standing. It took a freaking billionaire buying out an entire platform just to give us a mainstream platform where we were allowed any meaningful voice. The “far right” has totally imposed “fascism” though amirite?
Gee, why wouldn’t Republicans want to go to a show, which says they are monsters while being screeched at by a group of vapid harpies? It’s a mystery.
