Just as we had given up on Marvel originals on Disney+, here come the Guardians of the Galaxy to give us a glimmer. Is it hope or is it just nostalgia? Watch and decide.
Maybe it is unwise to get our hopes up. It is just a Christmas special after all. But the writing is clever in the trailer, they actually say the word “Christmas” instead of “holiday”, and Kevin Bacon is being kidnapped. That’s a lot of positives. Could it be that the Guardians of the Galaxy are going to deliver the first at-least-average holiday special made for Disney+? And could this finally snap us out of a streak of ho-hum Marvel entries for the streaming giant?
‘Tis the season. Let’s get our hopes up for this one just one more time.
