Star Wars is seeing the resurgence of several villains from their catalog. With Kylo Ren and Snoke having fallen in popularity as of late, Lucasfilm is going back to Darth Vader. The epitome of villainy will be featured in Ashoka on Disney+, played by (for the first time in more than a decade) Hayden Christensen. This will prepare the reuniting of Christensen with Ewan McGregor in the future series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The difference this time will be the aforementioned actor having to play Darth Vader, rather than Anakin. Only in the final minutes of Episode III did he partake in playing the character after the full transformation into the ultimate space villain.
This coincides with Lucasfilm mapping out a plan for their Disney+ Star Wars universe which will see the reveal of Admiral Thrawn. Both Vader and Thrawn are exceedingly popular in the Star Wars fandom, and should generate a significant amount of buzz if Kathleen Kennedy can keep the studio’s drama in check.

Speaking of Kathleen Kennedy, WDW Pro is looking to cover a story on the Lucasfilm head honcho later this week in regards to her potential contract extension. You’ll want to check back with That Park Place as he verifies information with his sources. For some, Kennedy herself is seen as a villain at Lucasfilm, but she may still yet continue to work at the studio.
For Kennedy, if she is able to keep her job, she’ll soon be faced with the issue of Rosario Dawson being the subject of ire for a contingency of Star Wars fans. How big this contingency is, and whether or not their dislike is based on real facts, is a subject for another article. However, it’s something that will need to be on Kennedy’s radar if she is to avoid another situation like with Gina Carano.
