The park is abuzz getting ready for the seasonal celebration with plenty of photo opportunities, new food booths, delicious treats, and more. Loews Portofino Bay Hotel: the Trattoria del Porto restaurant will bring the heat with creamy polenta shrimp, made with Cajun sauce. If you want some Italian in your French celebration, The Thirsty Fish and Splendido Bar & Grill will offer special drinks to guests.

Universal Studios Florida is revving up for their Mardi Gras celebrations, which begin this Saturday, February 5. Booths have been set up throughout the park, and decorations are being added. Let’s see what new decorations have gone up in the past few days.

Planet Mardi Gras Parade – This year’s original parade theme comes to life in six new floats which fuse Mardi Gras flare with cosmic-inspired elements such as comets, rockets, martians and more; inviting guests to catch beads by the handful. These new floats will join Universal’s traditional lineup of New Orleans-inspired floats (such as the iconic Jester and nearly 50-foot long sparkling King Gator) and wind through the streets of Universal Studios Florida on select dates, accompanied by high-energy music and performers donning illuminating costumes.
