The Sentry miniseries, written by Jason Loo with art by Luigi Zagaria, started out with Reynolds dead and his powers being distributed to random people across the globe.

The first issue’s official description states, “The Sentry is dead, but ordinary people all over the world are suddenly manifesting his powers and experiencing snippets of Bob Reynolds’ memories. Will one of them survive long enough to emerge as the new Sentry? Or will their newfound power destroy them? When Misty Knight and Jessica Jones cross paths in search of answers, they open an investigation that will change everything you think you know about the Sentry!”

The series follows blonde haired Ryan Topper as he begins killing off individuals that have manifested Sentry’s powers so he can be the one successor to the Sentry name.

While Topper is killing individuals who have Sentry’s powers, Mallory Gibbs manifests Sentry’s powers, destroys her entire apartment building, and then flees.

Eventually, Jessica Jones tracks down both Mallory and Ryan, a fight ensues as Ryan tries to cover up the various murders he’s committed. While he murdered the various individuals who had Sentry’s abilities, their minds were still in tact within him.

Mallory exploits this and resurrects all of them. They then team up to defeat Topper.
