A recent leak from a Chinese app suggests that NetEase’s free-to-play third-person hero shooter Marvel Rivals will soon expand its roster with the iconic Fantastic Four. That means Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing could all be coming to the incredibly popular title.

According to the rumor, these four new heroes will become playable starting as early as Friday, January 10.

Marvel Rivals launched last month on Steam and consoles and has already enjoyed impressive success. NetEase reported that the game reached over 20 million players across all platforms, ranking highly on player charts in the United States during the final week of the year. That’s a remarkable feat for a brand-new live service title, putting it on track to become one of the biggest free-to-play hits in recent memory.

Currently, Marvel Rivals boasts a roster of 33 playable characters drawn from every corner of the Marvel Universe. This includes classic Avengers such as Iron Man and Captain America, fan-favorite mutants like Wolverine and Magik, cosmic heroes like Rocket Raccoon, Spider-Man, Hawkeye, and Star-Lord, and even lesser-known characters like Jeff the Land Shark, Peni Parker, and Luna Snow.

Here’s the full roster in alphabetical order:

  1. Adam Warlock
  2. Black Panther
  3. Black Widow
  4. Captain America
  5. Cloak and Dagger
  6. Doctor Strange
  7. Groot
  8. Hawkeye
  9. Hela
  10. Hulk
  11. Iron Fist
  12. Iron Man
  13. Jeff the Land Shark
  14. Loki
  15. Luna Snow
  16. Magik
  17. Magneto
  18. Mantis
  19. Moon Knight
  20. Namor
  21. Peni Parker
  22. Psylocke
  23. Rocket Raccoon
  24. Scarlet Witch
  25. Spider-Man
  26. Squirrel Girl
  27. Star-Lord
  28. Storm
  29. The Punisher
  30. Thor
  31. Venom
  32. Winter Soldier
  33. Wolverine

If the Fantastic Four leak proves accurate, it would bring the total roster to 37 playable characters during just the first season. Clearly, NetEase is aiming to keep fans engaged by mixing beloved icons with some more surprising choices. There are still countless Marvel characters who could join the fray in the coming months and years.

It recently leaked that the X-Men’s Jean Grey and Emma Frost will be joining the game soon, with Emma taking the role of a vanguard and Jean becoming a duelist.

It’s likely that Marvel will start to roll out new characters to coincide with upcoming MCU releases. That means we could see Daredevil soon, and it’s honestly surprising that we haven’t gotten Deadpool yet with the popularity of Marvel’s recent blockbuster hit Deadpool and Wolverine.

For now, though, all eyes are on the Fantastic Four leak, which—if true—heralds an exciting next step for Marvel Rivals.
