Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is set to return to Magic Kingdom for the 2026 holiday season.

Disney has begun casting performers for the parade, signaling its return as part of the upcoming holiday entertainment lineup. Specifically, the casting call went to inline skating performers for the parade. Casting activity is commonly used as an early operational indicator for returning entertainment offerings.

Disney has not yet released a full official announcement outlining all 2026 holiday entertainment. However, the reported casting call gives us our first official hint at what to expect.

Established Role Within the Holiday Event

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade has long been a central component of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. The separately ticketed event typically takes place on select nights from early November through December.

The parade runs along the standard Magic Kingdom route, including Main Street, U.S.A. It features floats, performers, and Disney characters in holiday-themed attire. Santa Claus traditionally appears at the conclusion of the procession.

The parade is usually performed twice each event night. Access during these performances requires a separate party ticket.

Timing and Announcement Expectations

Disney typically releases full details for its holiday offerings in early to mid-July. This includes event dates, ticket information, and entertainment schedules.

For 2025, prices for the evening event ranged from $169 to $229 per person, plus tax.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party generally begins in early November and runs through late December. Although specific 2026 dates are not yet available, the event is expected to follow a similar timeframe.

For those planning to attend, purchasing tickets early is important, as each night is expected to sell out. In recent years, the first dates have typically sold out in September, with all event nights often reaching capacity by November.

Because the parade is closely tied to the event, its performance schedule will likely be announced alongside those details.

Daytime Performances Near Christmas

In recent years, Disney has scheduled daytime performances of the parade for all guests during the final days before Christmas, replacing the normal Festival of Fantasy Parade. This allows guests to view the parade without attending the separately ticketed evening event.

This shift typically occurs in the last week of December. During this period, the parade becomes part of the regular daytime entertainment lineup rather than remaining exclusive to the ticketed event.

Outlook for 2026

The reported casting activity provides the clearest indication so far that Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will return for the 2026 season.

Disney has not yet issued a detailed official announcement confirming the full entertainment lineup. Further details are expected once Disney releases its complete holiday schedule later this year.
