Are we calling it Dunder Minion?

The folks behind Minions: The Rise of Gru are feeling pretty frisky when it comes to their chances to take on Disney’s space ranger, Buzz Lightyear. Now, with the gates wide open for a Minion Mania this summer, marketing is ramping up all over the place. Luckily for all of us, some of it is quite ingenious.

Not only have the minions utterly taken over both Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando, but there’s also been a parody of The Office dropped online. Though it came out two days ago, we haven’t really covered it until now. That’s because it’s now trending and garnering more than two million views (easily) when looking at all the channels hosting the spoof. It’s really quite clever and shows what can be done with smart advertising and a big chunk of change.

Note the attention to detail with even a minion bobble head where Dwight’s desk should be. Note the “Minions Farms” mug with a beet switched to a banana. Love and attention went into this thing!

So what do you think? Does this get you more excited for the new movie? Let us know in the comments below. As always, keep reading That Park Place for all the latest news that should be fun.
