It’s looking likely that the rumors of a child actress participating in reshoots for Snow White and potentially cutting down the screen time of Rachel Zegler in the final edit… are true.

Rachel Zegler as Snow White in Snow White (2025), Walt Disney Studios
More information has come out regarding my most recent article about Rachel Zegler potentially losing screentime in the upcoming Snow White live action remake. In the prior article, partly crafted through reports from a source whose identity we are protecting, I noted that a young actress had been hired and Disney would allegedly use her character to “soften” the Zegler portrayal of Snow White. Thanks to folks like Skyler Shuler of Disinsider and other individuals on Twitter / X, we’ve been able to track down quite a bit of information that helps round out exactly what is going on.
First we need to make a correction on the prior report. Whereas my source had said that a young actress had been brought onto the production, I took that to mean that the actress playing a young Snow White had been cast recently. That wasn’t true and was an error on my part, not my source. It was an innocent misunderstanding. In fact, the casting call for a young Snow White occurred back in 2021 with rehearsals in 2022. Production was supposed to begin in March of 2022 and we believe that Ms. Faucher completed her work by June of 2022.

In fact, the way that we know Ms. Faucher and her family were completed with work on Snow White in London is due to an Instagram post dated June 27th, 2022.

But why does this matter? Well… hang in there, we think the story we told about Rachel Zegler potentially having her screentime cut for the upcoming film is largely confirmed. Here’s why:
The “adventure of a lifetime” almost certainly was working on Snow White. Yet although detractors have claimed that Faucher has not been involved in reshoots — and thus there are no additional or modified young Snow White scenes to remove Rachel Zegler from parts of the film — we discovered that it appears Ms. Faucher was rushed to London just before the SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023 to work on the same project as before (Snow White). In fact, the reshoots were so extensive that it appears to have taken two-three weeks! That’s a huge amount of time for the amount of screentime one would anticipate for isolated flashback sequences receiving touch-up reshoots.

If these posts are indeed about Snow White, which we can’t find any way to believe they’re about something else (despite claims from others that it might be for an unnamed Universal project), then Emilia Faucher did indeed participate in major reshoots before the SAG-AFTRA strikes just as our source had originally claimed. On top of that, this is significant because there’s some idea of why they would have rushed the young star into reshoots before the strikes. Because children age differently than adults, having Ms. Faucher quickly reshoot her role was probably very important given that she is currently ten years old… meaning she was eight years old during the casting (even though they were looking for ten year old actresses).
Now of course all of this is great for Emilia Faucher and for her family. We’re not here to take away any of the joy they must have at this enormous breakthrough. It’s a tremendous, once-in-a-lifetime sort of achievement and opportunity.
That said, if Faucher’s role is solely for flashbacks and/or an origin beginning to Snow White… why did they need to do reshoots. She shouldn’t be in any scenes with newly CGI dwarfs or in scenes that would need major tonal shifts. The only reasons she might be brought back is if the script was so totally different that her prior work was now completely unusable — or if she was being given additional scenes such as what our source has alleged previously.
There’s another indicator that it might be the latter.
It appears that since the article and video came out covering the chance that Zegler’s role could be reduced, the IMDb page for Emilia Faucher has been updated. Now, I looked at her IMDb page prior to writing the first article and the other video, and I surely believe had I seen what I’m about to show you, I would have had that front-and-center in the coverage. That said, we’ve worked to prove her IMDb page has been updated, and we can’t find a way to do that definitively. In this regard, we just have to say that it looks to us like this has been changed and in a way that is pertinent to the issue:
The new “mini bio” for Emilia Faucher (again, I say “new” because I believe it has been updated in the last few days) now says that she was signed in early 2022, and that she was signed to a “leading role” due for early 2025 release. Bizarre that it doesn’t just come out and say that it’s Snow White, but we’re very confident that she has been the young lady playing that part.
All of that said, declaring on her IMDb page that she is in a “leading role” is something new to us. And it may point to her role having expanded past the original description in the casting call. So then the question becomes: is that as a result of the reshoots and a change in direction for the film such as our source said originally?
If so, it’s no surprise that Snow White was headed for a disaster prior to the delay. And Emilia Faucher may be just the way to help fix the problems. In case you need a refresher on just how many major gaffes Zegler had made and how abysmally the project coming together, I highly recommend a Daily Mail article that goes through it all: Disney delays release of $330M live-action Snow White reboot by a YEAR and dumps diverse dwarfs after star Rachel Zegler sparked fury with woke rant against 1937 original
Finally, you might say that it’s dubious whether or not the IMDb description should be given much credence considering how often these things can be flubbed. But the issue there is that once needs to look at the last name given for the person who added that mini-bio. If that is who you probably suspect it is… well, it calls into question 1) is that close enough proximity to take it very seriously and 2) why isn’t Disney more closely coordinating all of this? Perhaps they are… but it seems odd for someone who is likely a family member uploading such a description.
Conclusion
At the end of the day, we’re overjoyed for Emilia Faucher and her family. We also are paying very close attention to the data points here that seem to corroborate what our source relayed last week. It does appear that Emilia Faucher was called back to London rapidly in 2023 to reshoot for weeks. It does seem odd given that her prior work was for (we believe) isolated flashback and origin material. And we furthermore find it interesting that her IMDb page now seems to point towards her work on Snow White having become a “leading role.”
What does it spell for Rachel Zegler? Well… the more Faucher is Snow White in the film, the less percentage of the movie Zegler is in it. And if the goal of Disney is to soften the Snow White portrayal, what better way to do it than with a child actor who isn’t connected with any of the controversies that Zegler manifested.
And that’s the story for today…
