A new version of collectible Disney medallions has arrived at Disney Parks following D23 2026. The latest releases use colorful artwork and, for the first time at Walt Disney World, clear plastic protective capsules.

Disneyland Resort introduced colorful medallions in 2025 during its 70th Anniversary Celebration. The resort added protective capsules with the D23 Day commemorative medallions released in August 2026. Walt Disney World followed with its first colorful medallions in August.

The change marks a departure from the traditional Disney Parks medallions. Those souvenirs generally used metal finishes without an individual protective capsule. The new format combines the metal medallion with full-color artwork and a case that protects the piece after it leaves the machine.

New Mickey and Friends Medallions Arrive at Disneyland

A new collectible medallion machine has arrived at Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen on Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland Park. The machine features four Disneyland-themed designs starring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto and Goofy.

Each medallion shows one character wearing a signature outfit, with Sleeping Beauty Castle behind the character. The character’s signature also appears near the bottom of the design. The reverse features Disneyland branding, including the Disneyland wordmark and the Disney “D.”

The machine uses a colorful cream, red, blue and gold design and charges $10 for one medallion or $35 for all four. The release gives the traditional Disney characters a new treatment while tying the set specifically to Disneyland.

Eight Medallions Debuted at D23 2026

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event also had its own medallions. The 2026 event ran August 14-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center, across from Disneyland Resort.

Two machines offered four medallions each. The first set featured Dumbo, The Muppet Show, Alice in Wonderland, and Beauty and the Beast. The second set featured The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Fox and the Hound, 101 Dalmatians, and Darkwing Duck.

All eight medallions used a gold-colored metallic finish with a reeded edge. Each one came in a clear plastic protective capsule. The reverse carried the same D23 2026 design. The machines sold complete sets of four for $35.

Walt Disney World Gets Colorful Medallions

Walt Disney World received its first colorful collectible medallions shortly after D23.

The first set appeared at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop in Magic Kingdom. The machine uses a touchscreen instead of traditional buttons.

The four designs feature Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy in pirate-themed costumes. Mickey and Donald appear on gold-colored medallions, while Minnie and Goofy appear on silver-colored pieces. The reverse has a Pirates of the Caribbean compass design with a skull, sword and hook.

The machine charges $10 for one medallion or $35 for all four, including tax.

This release differs from the standard Walt Disney World medallions listed by Disney. The resort’s regular collectible medallions cost $6 each or $20 for four. The newer touchscreen machines use a separate $10 and $35 price structure.

Muppets Medallions Arrive at Hollywood Studios

Another new Walt Disney World set arrived at Rock Around the Shop, near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The four designs feature groups of Muppet characters. One shows Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Another features Floyd Pepper and Janice. A third pairs Zoot and Dr. Teeth, while the fourth shows Animal and Lips.

Each medallion includes artwork connected to the attraction. The reverse carries “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets” text. Guests can purchase one for $10 or all four for $35.

Disneyland Adds Alice in Wonderland Medallions

Disneyland received another colorful medallion set at World of Disney in Downtown Disney on August 21.

The four designs commemorate the 75th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland. They feature Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat and the Queen of Hearts.

Each silver-colored medallion has a different character design on the front. The reverse carries Alice in Wonderland 75th Anniversary artwork. The touchscreen machine charges $10 for one or $35 for all four.

What Makes the 2026 Releases Different

The most notable change is the protective capsule. Disneyland used the cases for its D23 Day medallions, while Walt Disney World introduced them with its first colorful medallion sets.

The new releases also expand the range of designs. Recent medallions cover Disney characters, attractions, anniversaries and park history. The D23 Expo sets alone span eight properties and anniversary subjects.

Because Disney changes the designs at individual machines, availability can change quickly.
