New Protests Call for Disney Boycott

Pay attention to news sites and Disney blogs that only carry one side of a story. Today, we’re providing you the protests against Disney and against their positions regarding the Florida legislation. Does that mean we’re picking a side? No. It means we’re carrying both sides of the news like a responsible, unbiased news site should. Go check how many others are doing the same…

A group of more than one-hundred (but less than two-hundred) individuals showed up at Disney’s Burbank headquarters to protest the company and call for a mass boycott. Their reason: they are not in favor of Disney taking a position on the Florida legislation forbidding classroom instruction of gender theory and sexual orientation for kindergarten through third grade.

So how does this protest measure up against the employee-driven actions in favor of Disney speaking out against the Florida legislation?

Well according to our own reporting, the Disney Walkout protests featured a lone protester, a short sidewalk march with a hundred-or-so walkers, and some group photos in front of studios. In terms of participants, the Disney Walkout protests are larger, but almost certainly didn’t contain as many people who you might recognize as an actual protester. In other words, the people calling for a Disney boycott look like protesters while the Disney Walkout participants often took a quick photo and went back inside. But in all fairness, Disney Walkout had more participants overall.

We’re still talking about small numbers on both sides who are partaking in a public, physical presence calling for action in either direction. That’s not to say that the movements on either side are small, just that physical protests are not reaching a high level yet (if they ever do). For an example of the passion being felt by the various groups, the conservative website “Townhall” has an editorial today by Kurt Schlichter called “Destroy Disney“. Meanwhile, outspoken Disney heiress and leftwing advocate, Abigail Disney, has the opposite position:
