The Walt Disney Company has released its December 2021 Schedule for Walt Disney World theme parks. Of note is that Disney will be keeping three parks open until midnight on New Year’s Eve, something that is very atypical for any other night. The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will all be staying open until midnight (possibly later if Disney updates the calendar as they sometimes do). In 2020, the parks were closed much earlier for New Year’s Eve in an effort to keep celebrations and expectations low. Now, however, it would seem almost certain that Disney is ready to return the fun and ring in the new year.

No announcement has been made just yet in regards to special fireworks. Personally, I’m hoping for Epcot Forever to return with a New Years Eve extension at the end. Frankly, I’ll take anything over Harmonious.

As we gear up for the announcement of festivities, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and check out the prior celebrations:

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Epcot

Magic Kingdom

We’re still waiting on an announcement from Universal Studios about their New Years Eve plans, as well as waiting on Dollywood. As soon as we get information for either park, we’ll relay it to you here at That Park Place.
