Obi-Wan Kenobi Ending Leak Could Point to More Woke Star Wars

It would be glorious for Lucasfilm and Disney to realize they can make non-white and non-male characters that are awesome in their own right… without denigrating established heroes. Unfortunately, it appears we’re not done with the modern trope just yet.

For the past months there have been rumors about Obi-Wan Kenobi leaks regarding the ending of the series, as well as post-credit scenes. We have been hesitant to publish anything regarding these purported leaks because first: the series has been in post-production and things could change from leak to release, and second: after The Book of Boba Fett had its ending changed even once the series started releasing, leadership at That Park Place hasn’t been keen to be burned again.

Things are beginning to heat up, however, and Obi-Wan is just weeks away from release. When it appears the ending may have been completely leaked, it’s hard not to cover it when part of what we do is cover rumors. I guess I say all that to just implore our readers to temper their expectations. Could this be a legitimate leak? Yes. Could there be an intentionally leaked false ending to throw fans off? Sure. Could there be three different endings and we don’t know which one they’ve picked? You bet. So let’s just enjoy this potential leak for what it is: a rumor.

Before going any further, you’re obviously entering into spoiler territory.

Essentially, if the leaks turn out to be true, Star Wars will be retconned so that Obi-Wan Kenobi failed to protect Luke Skywalker… and in fact an inquisitor had the opportunity to kill him as a boy. However, out of goodness in her heart, she overcomes the desire to kill him and instead sacrifices her own life by being killed by Darth Vader himself. In that regard, Obi-Wan Kenobi will be made a failure twice-over: he will have now failed to save Anakin from becoming Vader AND failed to actually protect Luke from the Empire. Only by luck and the good-hearted nature of an inquisitor will Luke be spared. A woman of color will have filled in for an incompetent Kenobi and then given her life to the rage of a white man behind a mask. I wish that’s not how these Hollywood writers see the world, but I am continuously disappointed to see us return to tribalism and segregating narratives.

Here’s Drunk 3PO with the details:

For those who feel there is a misandric attack on Star Wars in which men are made inept and women are made the real heroes, and that this pattern repeats over and over, this will be another difficult story. For those who feel that Star Wars is a vehicle for social change, perhaps they will further enjoy the story. And for all the “normies” out there, I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.

As for me, I believe that this is a make-or-break for Star Wars in terms of people caring. If they screw this up, I think they’ve reached the point where the brand will need a decade to recover. What a time to be alive and watch a company walk a giant property to the edge of the cliff while cultural ideologues chant “too big to fail” and “cry more.”

Shame on Bob Chapek for not dropping Kathleen Kennedy when he had the chance. He may have wanted to moderate the company but his weakness has resulted in his downfall and the potential downfall of Star Wars.

For all the latest news that should be fun, keep reading That Park Place! As always, drop us a comment down below. We truly do care about the thoughts of our readers and they guide us in what we cover.

There was a point in time, where I would have avoided an article like this, because I would have hated for the ending of a much-anticipated story to be ruined, by reading it ahead of time. I used to like surprises. I’m passed that point, now. Spoilers have little meaning to me. I no longer care about Disney Star Wars, Disney Indiana Jones, or Disney Marvel.

The same, ridiculous trope is carried out time after time, and we’re supposed to be eating it up and saying to ourselves, “wow, you know… maybe white men are the devil.”

I was just talking to someone about the current, repetitive and expected strategy, while creating these Disney+ series… It’s a classic bait and switch.

They create a show about the male character you’ve grown to love, through many years of storytelling (comics, books & movies) then they either make him a side character or a dumbed down character, who needs assistance/saving from a female.

They did it with Book of Boba Fett, Loki, Moon Knight & Hawkeye. Now it appears they’re doing the same for Obi-Wan, as well. I expect we’ll see the same in Andor and Lando.

If this is true then surely no one should have any faith in Chapek and his team? Like Lucasfilm screwing up is non news and a whatever by now but it would be shocking if the Disney heads have so much faith in the Obi Wan series, enough to think it’s a cornerstone of their streaming strategy going forward.

OMG… If that is the ending they choose to go with!??!!! Not only does that degrade the character of Obi Wan but, it also doesn’t make sense. Wouldn’t Luke remember some crazy chick coming to his house, threatening to kill everyone? (with I’m assuming a Lightsaber) Wouldn’t that make a comment about that the first time he saw Anakins Light Saber?

Also, I believe you guys that Han Solo was at the ending of Book of Boba Fett. I heard it somewhere that Han was supposed to be dropping off Ben Solo to Luke. Disney made the correct decision to not ager the fanbase further.

You would think by now, if you were doing a Star Wars production you’d want to do 3 different endings. Watch which one leaks, and identify and fire the leakers. If the rumor proves true, then Disney might as well put all Star Wars productions on hold until they have a chance to do some serious personnel changes.

Disney Stock is headed towards double digit territory fast and they really need to make hard choices, immediately.

If true, Star Wars and Star Trek both died and the animated corpses are used for unholy gains.

Seems like a lot of reaching, to be honest.

I don’t see the world the same way the above comments to. It would never dawned on me that the ending is somehow designed to make white men look like the devil or men in general. I just don’t see it that way and I believe the only people who do see it that way or people who are looking for that. I read the ending and thought that was interesting. Then I read the comments and the article and I was shocked that that was the conclusion. I’m a 42 year old white male and I just don’t understand the fear or the perspective. I’m also not rooting for social change to be perpetrated through entertainment. I just don’t see the world through the same lens some of these people do fearful that every Disney property is hateful of the white man…

People are not concern about Disney being hateful of white man………….. people are concern about Disney being hateful of their legacy characters and more interested in pushing new ones. Like ultimately the biggest question we need to ask about the Obi wan series is the exact same one we need to ask about the Boba Fett series: why do we need it? What new exciting story are you trying to tell? The answer for Boba Fett was that they had nothing to tell about him and they relegated him to being a supporting character in his own series. The leak ending suggests Obi wan will become a whatever too in his series.

When I watched the last Jedi I didn’t really see it either. I just felt down and the movie was dumb and not going anywhere. The person I wanted it with, my aunt in law, said, “That movie wasn’t very good.” After that I just didn’t watch Star Wars. This after spending years reading books. My book shelf is full of Star Wars books. Then my daughter went into creative writing with the intent of writing movies. I was really excited. Then she came back talking about the Patriarchy and how they had destroyed everything. The extremism and anger was unbelievable. When you see that in person and the public attitude of people like Pablo Hidalgo, it is hard not to see the repeated “deconstruction of beloved characters” as done out of hatred.

Luke wasn’t a hero in the end. No one was really the hero. It was all a big bore. We’re just going keep this pretense. Cancel Disney+. Don’t watch it.

The last two episodes of Boba Fett were filmed first according to the actor W. Earl Brown. It is very, very unlikely the episodes were changed after they were being aired. This idea that the ending was changed is most likely the product internet reporters covering their bad reporting. There’s enough disinformation out there to always cover. The grift goes on.

Also, “the plot leaked for X and X is woke” stories are getting tired. Based on what I know, much of the bones of this leak are correct, but without context it’s silly to draw conclusions.

I am familiar with how it works and I’m also familiar with how the internet works. Much of it is nonsense, sorry if you disagree. The idea they were making late changes is farcical.

Just watching Bobba Fett it is pretty obvious that episodes 5 & 6 where inserted to replace whatever was originally written. The Tuskan Raider plot just kind of ends with no story or reason for it. Disney said there was going to be a huge surprise at the end. It could have been the Rancor but that was telegraphed so not really a surprise. Makes more sense it was supposed to be Han Solo.

They show have called the show “The Inquisitors” with surprise guest appearances by Obiwan and Vader. Fans would have gone ape over it. They didn’t even need to change the plot much.

Based on Disney recently the trailer basically telegraphs this leaked possible ending. Why have a new inquisitor when we already have inquisitors that can be developed more? She was added so that Vader can kill her in a big sacrifice. Is this played by the same actress in Doctor Strange who does the same thing?
