I don’t know if $15 or $20m is enough to settle. While we lucked out the damages that would have happened had this moved the needle and pushed Kamala over the edge… well it the damage would have been incalculable.
Still, I feel a little sorry for Sharie Redstone that she’s screwed either way, except she could have sold long, long ago if she hadn’t been such a wench about certain deals. Then the Democrats wouldn’t have a leg to stand on with this whole “bribe” stretch.
This is mostly her fault for refusing previous offers until it became obvious she wasn’t going to get what she wanted.
The fact that Paramount’s D&O insurance considers the settlement “blackmail” and is refusing to pay for it is just icing on the cake. 60 Minutes released an edited interview of a political candidate during an election, only releasing the full interview afterwards. That kind of behavior needs to be punished to avoid it in the future. How is that blackmail?
