The dust hadn't even started to settle after Skydance's merger with Paramount Studios when news broke that Skydance CEO David Ellison had set his sights on buying a second legacy studio, this time, Warner Brothers (WB).

But the sale of WB might be something that Warner Brothers Discovery CEO David Zaslav has been orchestrating for some time. Ellison's interest, however, is probably an unexpected twist.
