Pedro Pascal has once again spoken out against Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, this time in a new Vanity Fair cover story published Monday. The actor, best known for his roles in The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, revisited his April social media post in which he called Rowling a “heinous loser” after she celebrated a major UK Supreme Court ruling on gender issues.
In the interview, Pascal reaffirmed his stance.
“Bullies make me f—ing sick,” he said.

The comments stem from backlash Rowling received in April after the UK’s highest court ruled that the term “woman” under the Equality Act refers to biological sex. Rowling shared a celebratory photo of herself drinking champagne and smoking a cigar in response to the verdict, captioned, “I love it when a plan comes together.”
Pascal publicly replied to an activist’s Instagram post at the time, calling Rowling’s celebration “awful disgusting S***” and labeling it “heinous loser behavior.” In Vanity Fair, Pascal said he agonized over whether speaking out was the right move but felt it was necessary:

“The one thing that I would say I agonized over a little bit was just, ‘Am I helping? Am I f—ing helping?’” he mused. “It’s a situation that deserves the utmost elegance so that something can actually happen, and people will actually be protected. Listen, I want to protect the people I love. But it goes beyond that.”
Pascal’s older sibling, Javiera, also defended his post.
“But it is heinous loser behavior,” she said. “And he said that as the older brother to someone saying that our little sister doesn’t exist.”

Rowling, for her part, has revealed that she is a survivor of abuse and violence earlier in life. In a 2020 essay, she explained that her concerns about allowing biological males into women-only spaces are deeply personal. Her position, she wrote, is not rooted in hatred but in firsthand experience.
She expressed solidarity with women who share similar histories.

“I’m mentioning these things now not in an attempt to garner sympathy, but out of solidarity with the huge numbers of women who have histories like mine who’ve been slurred as bigots for having concerns around single-sex spaces,” she said.
Critics of Rowling, like Pedro Pascal, often dismiss her as intolerant, but for many supporters, her advocacy stems from the belief that women deserve safety, privacy, and dignity — especially those who’ve experienced harm.

In that context, Pascal’s attacks are not just political—they’re personal, aimed at a woman who has repeatedly explained that her views are born from trauma, not cruelty.
Pascal was not the only celebrity to respond to the court ruling. An open letter circulated in April, signed by Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us), Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton), and others, expressing opposition to the verdict. Among the signatories was actor Paapa Essiedu, who has been cast as Severus Snape in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter television series.

Despite the apparent ideological differences, Rowling responded to the news with a measured post on X.
“I don’t have the power to sack an actor from the series and I wouldn’t exercise it if I did,” she said. “I don’t believe in taking away people’s jobs or livelihoods because they hold legally protected beliefs that differ from mine.”

The Harry Potter television reboot, currently in development at HBO, is expected to debut in 2026. Rowling remains closely involved in the project, serving as a key creative partner and producer.
How do you feel about Pedro Pascal doubling down on his attacks against J.K. Rowling? Sound off in the comments and let us know!

Amazing that he can make comments that show he is obviously a sexist/woman-hater, but doesn’t get the “me-too” treatment. Regardless of her views, she is the classic success story and should be celebrated!
She’s far more successful than Pascal will ever be. His fifteen minutes are just about up.
It’s great to see leftists infighting.
It’s all a lot of cope to run interference for his incestuous relationship with his “sister”. The sooner this closeted homosexual’s 15 minutes of fame are up the better.
Pascal keeps talking about Rowling as though she actually cares about what he thinks; someone needs to tell him to shut up and act, assuming enough people care to watch…
Leftist snowflake attacking leftist crybaby. Oooooh, what a sight to see…
This allegedly-gay actor is BEGGING for a widespread boycott of his crappy movies and shows. FF4 looks likely to tank.
