Pixar Announces Details for “Elemental” Releasing June 2023

Disney’s Pixar has announced details for Elemental, their summer blockbuster attempt for 2023. The tweet providing information on the upcoming flick curiously avoids saying whether or not the movie will debut in theaters or Disney+. You would think based on internal Pixar concerns that making such a claim would be highly desired. Still, it is absent and may speak to a number of issues surrounding movie-making, as well as Pixar’s recent history with Disney.

We’re happy to give Elemental the fair chance all films deserve. Perhaps it will be a return to the full glory of Pixar’s glory days. Before we get there, however, there’s a major challenge ahead with the release of Lightyear. Polling shows families may be staying home amid controversy and waiting to judge the Buzz Lightyear film once they’ve had the chance to review it at home. If Lightyear struggles at the box office — and that’s a big “if” — then Elemental may be viewed in a different light than Pixar films of the past.

The movie looks cute in the concept art and it has sort of a Zootopia aesthetic but with elements. Here’s to hoping it does great!

This sounds as boring as “Soul”.

Joe

Interesting.

If only because it’s talking about commonalities, rather than division.

Could potentially be anti-woke….

Except its Woke as a premise. “Hey, we are more alike than different. I can be just a strong as you. You can take orders from me as much as I can take orders from you.” It’s completely subversive.
