PlayStation announced a launch date for a demo for developer Shift Up’s upcoming action adventure game Stellar Blade.

In a post to social media, PlayStation shared that the Stellar Blade demo will arrive on PlayStation 5 on March 29th and that save data from the demo will carry over to the full game.

In a linked blog post Shift Up Corporation Director Kim Hyung Tae shared that the “demo takes place from the very beginning of the game when Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad is sent to Earth on a mission to reclaim the planet from the Naytiba, up to the first boss fight. This first stage will include the tutorial phase to help you familiarize yourself with basic combat features as you explore post-war Eidos 7, a human city now infested by the Naytiba, giving you an early grasp of gameplay mechanics that will serve you throughout the game’s story.”
He also promised, “We also have a little surprise included for players who complete the first stage.”
Furthermore, he shared that if you want to carry over your save data, it “must be stored on your PS5 system.”

If you are unfamiliar with Stellar Blade, the game puts players in control of EVE whose unit is part of the 7th Airborne Squad’s mission to reclaim Earth from the Naytiba. However, her unit is destroyed. Fortunately, she is rescued by a scavenger called Adam to the last remaining city on Earth, Xion. There she continues her mission with the help of Adam, an engineer named Lily, and Tachy, the leader of the 7th Airborne Squad.
Shift Up promises that players will get to explore a post-apocalyptic earth that includes various areas including Xion, the Wasteland, the Great Desert, and more. It notes, “Battle through this semi-open world on your way to EVE’s next objective, or leave the beaten track to tackle side quests, scavenge items, and uncover more of the intriguing secrets behind Earth’s downfall.”

The game officially luanches on April 26th.
