Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly left the United Kingdom with their two children as a deeply disturbing scandal involving the Duchess of Sussex’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., continues to unfold.
According to Us Weekly, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex departed Britain with Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, to spend time overseas with close friends. The departure comes just two months after the controversial couple returned to the UK following six years in California.
The family’s destination has not been publicly confirmed, and the trip coincides with the children’s school break. However, reports suggest Meghan has been left emotionally devastated by allegations involving her father.
Thomas Markle Sr. Faces Disturbing Allegations
The controversy erupted on October 22 when Thomas Markle Jr., Meghan’s half-brother, alleged that he discovered a collection of illegal child material among belongings at their father’s former residence in the Philippines.
Thomas Jr. reportedly contacted authorities after discovering the material, prompting an investigation involving Philippine law enforcement.
The allegations concern Thomas Markle Sr., 82, who currently resides in an assisted-living facility in Florida following previous health complications.
The elder Markle has emphatically denied the accusations.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Thomas Sr. described the allegations as lies and expressed disbelief that his own son would make such accusations against him.

According to Hello!, an unnamed friend of Meghan claims the duchess has struggled emotionally with the revelations, particularly given her responsibilities as a mother.
“She’s just really, really upset,” the friend explained, adding that Meghan has been thinking about the children potentially involved in the allegations.
The friend also claimed Meghan had already decided to distance herself from media coverage before the scandal emerged.

Nevertheless, the controversy has reportedly overwhelmed her, with friends and acquaintances sending messages of sympathy.
Meghan publicly addressed the situation on October 23, expressing distress over the allegations and explaining that her longstanding decision to keep her father away from her children was motivated by concerns for their safety.
Reuters reported that London’s Metropolitan Police received a letter containing allegations in January 2019, rather than 2018 as Meghan initially indicated. Police acknowledged forwarding the correspondence to Harry and Meghan’s office but not to other law enforcement agencies.
